A huge thank you to Tino, Justin, and Fred from Cal’s moving for their incredible service. We recently moved our 96 year-old aunt from her apartment into assisted living. A move made especially difficult as she recently lost her husband of 76 years. The team Handled everything with such deep compassion, they were efficient, calm, and quiet, which created a peaceful environment that was so important for her during this transition, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience during the sensitive time.Thank you
I sit and think about this horrible move nearly 2 years later still giving me so much anxiety. Was scared to post a review or ask for refund because they knew where I lived as a single girl.Story:Hired 2 people. Moved 1/4 of it myself and got overcharged and hit on.They called and told (not asked) me they had a trainee that day, so there would be a free 3rd person for free.Turned into them training a guy (incorrectly) the whole time on my dime.Move took at LEAST 2x longer than it should have costing me an additional $500-$600 than it should have. They moved slow, incorrectly, one small hand held item at a time, and their trainee HIT ON ME the whole time would intentionally try to be alone with me. It was so bad I’ve considered suing. They slowly walked items to the elevator, would ride the whole way down, back up, and then walk back for another item (instead of just filling elevator, sending it down, and having another guy at the bottom to move it)They stood around talking and point and training instead of moving. If there was a 2 person item, they would stand around and wait for the other to come back up the elevator before moving /anything/ even though there were plenty of things to move. They made me so uncomfortable and cornered into paying an unholy amount of money for a small move I don’t know what to say.Still I stood around offering them drinks, physical help, snacks, cigarettes, anything I could to be considerate and nice. But this really left such a bad feeling in my gut for years how taken advantage of I was. They wrote on a piece of paper that I had “1,000+” small boxes when I did /not/ . I lived in a one bedroom apartment I was in for only one year alone.(Edit) I just saw they charged $438 for a 3 bedroom apartment move for someone else below, mind you, they charged me $900 for 800sqft one bedroom. (+ tip pressured made it $1100~)One guy was training the other guy the whole time, the other was the foreman who worked 70% of the time really well and 30% sat around writing notes./: would appreciate a refund.
The movers were fast, friendly, and skilled. Peter and Thinno managed an oversized couch perfectly, even maneuvering it through a side entrance without a scratch—all with a smile. Truly professional!
Moving Fellows was amazing! Alex and Ricky were careful with all of our belongings and completed the move efficiently. They accommodated our late start and even did two trips quickly.
This was my first time using this moving company. I’ll definitely use them again in the future and I’ll refer people I know. My experience was great from start to finish. The communication was exceptional and Lace did a great job working with me and helping me plan accordingly within my budget. The gentleman sent out to help with the move were punctual about time and extremely professional. I normally don’t do reviews but my move worked out perfectly. I highly recommend using Moving Fellows Portland.
