Customer feedback highlights two recurring themes: clear communication and careful handling reported by many successful international moves, and frustration from a minority of reviewers about damaged items or packing volume concerns. Several reviewers praised responsiveness, transparent updates, and deliveries arriving in good condition. Critical reviews mention disputes over packing methods, timing at destination, and damage claims. Overall ratings trend positive, but shoppers should review estimates, valuation coverage, and packing details closely.
Title: Very Disappointing Experience and Unjustified Overcharges"I am very dissatisfied with Armstrong/Gosselin's service for a move from Quebec to France.Critical Points:Excessive Packing: The full package was expensive, but the boxes were only half-filled with paper to inflate the volume by 2 to 3 cubic meters.Failed Logistics: The team in France arrived at 4:30 PM instead of 10:00 AM. Communication was impossible (staff did not speak French).Service Not Provided: The unpacking and collection of boxes stipulated in the contract were not carried out.Excessive Charges: An additional €350 was charged for a small truck, even though access had been assessed and the initial price was already very high.I do not recommend these services due to the lack of professionalism and hidden costs."
Never doing business with again. I see that my original review was removed by the company. A waste of $5,665.00. BROKEN COMPUTER MONITORS, destroyed clothes. Worse experience!!! I can't believe this company is still in business.International Move from California to Quebec City. I really wish I was able to provide 5 stars on this review as Armstrong Moving came highly recommended by my relocation advisor from Reloc Quebec.Pros: Fast arrival to Quebec. Originally quoted 4 to 6 weeks for arrival. All items arrived in 2.5 - 3 weeks. Great communication at the beginning of the shipment/packing process. Flexible by a few days to allow me to provide my work permit from Montreal Airport. Provided all the documentation needed for Customs clearance. Seamless and easy process.Cons: Where everything went wrong! On the Quebec side, Armstrong Moving partners with Tremblay Moving Services to deliver shipments. In the beginning, there were no issues. I went to Tremblay in person delivered the customs documents and schedule the date and time for my items to be delivered to my apartment in Quebec. The night before the dispatch at Tremblay called to confirm the date and time for a morning delivery. The day of the delivery, which was in the morning, no delivery personnel showed up. I phoned Tremblay to inquire about why the delivery personnel was late to be informed that they did another delivery in a different area first causing a major inconvenience to my work day. I had previously scheduled all my international work meetings to accommodate a morning delivery. The short and long of everything is that I was told off by a woman at Tremblay, received all the attitude and rudeness about me not speaking French when I should speak French in a French speaking province (mind you the audacity of this white woman to tell me this when all of present-day Quebec, herself included is on STOLEN LAND of Indigenous First Nations tribes). After the attitude and rudeness from the woman at Tremblay, she then proceeds to tell me that she has no idea when my items will be delivered and hung up the phone on me. Professionalism in Quebec so far sucks. Quebec is second in line after the US on this and that is no compliment. My items were finally delivered. The delivery personnel brought the items up to my apartment on the 3rd floor. Both gentlemen asked if they could use my bathroom, and I later found out that they urinated all over the toilet seat. I just recently got a chance to open the boxes with my items and there is a horrendous foul odor and smell all over my clothes, shoes, pillows, towels, sheets, anything with fabric, suitcases included. I will probably have to throw the majority of the stuff away and try to salvage the most important items to me.I have absolutely no idea what happened in transit or the storage of my items before they were delivered to my apartment. The odor is so bad that even the property manager of my building has asked me to close off the room where the items are currently stored because the odor smells up the entire 3rd floor. I sent an email to Alexandre Sierra and Brian Kim at Armstrong Movers to provide an expedited response or solution to this with instructions for me to file an insurance claim. CRICKETS! No response! Now, I can't file a claim, will probably miss the claim deadline because of no response from Armstrong Moving and will probably have to dispose of several personal belongings because of this horrible odor. So, I paid over $5600.00 CAD for this international move, got told off and hung up on by Armstrong's partner company Tremblay, and received all my items basically ruined from a foul stench that could make you throw up. Two computer monitors broken and destroyed. I guess this is what $5500 will get you in 2024. Sorry not sorry. I do not recommend!
Delighted to have chosen Armstrong for our move from France to Montreal, Canada.During the move, the team took their time to carefully pack our belongings. Upon arrival, they delivered the packages with such care that nothing was broken.A huge thank you to the entire team for the excellent follow-up and clear communication throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them!
I moved a large part of my household goods from Quebec to Eastern Europe with Armstrong.Everything was fully transparent and no hidden fees. The team was extremely helpful in assisting and providing all the information I needed in a timely manner. All the goods arrived in excellent condition.Truly grateful for all the support and services provided.Thank you Alexandre, Magda and Stephan!
I moved from Montreal Quebec to London UK and I would do it again with Armstrong and highly recommend themAfter researching moving companies and comparing prices in the end what really made the difference was how responsive the agents where.Stephan was impeccable, the response time was insane, I felt very reassuredEvery email was answered promptly, he took all my calls…he even answered while he was off duty, I never got an answering machine nor did I have to insist or chase him.But that’s not the half of it, these people are knowledgeable, every step was carried out as promised, the packing agents where super respectful…I mean I thought I was detail oriented…these folks are truly impressive. The team at Armstrong are dedicated and trustworthy…I mean the level of engagement is superior and regardless of the size of the move, mine was 4 cubic meters, I always felt like I mattered.Thank you for all your dedication to making my move flawless.
