Reviews frequently highlight efficient, hard-working crews and helpful scheduling staff who can arrange moves on short notice. Several customers praise reasonable pricing when the scope is clear. Critical feedback mentions unexpected or additional fees, as well as frustrations with damage resolution and claims. Experiences vary, so clarifying the inventory, drive time, and any surcharges in advance appears important.
We hired this company to move heavy items since I’m 32 weeks pregnant. Customer service started out great, and my husband took the day off to be present. Unfortunately, not all items on our list were moved, and our king-size latex mattress was bent and damaged, making it unusable. The damage wasn’t noticed until after the movers had left.Despite this, we were charged over $100 more than the estimate and were still pressured for a tip. Now we have to purchase a new mattress less than two months before our baby arrives, something we specifically hired movers to avoid. Very disappointing experience.
I recently had the need to move my husband from one memory care facility to another. It was a short notice requirement. Move 4 Less stepped up to the plate as promised. Their pricing is very reasonable, they gave us a time window and we requested a little earlier time, they were able to accomodate the move with ease. Just be advised in the pricing they allow 30 minutes drive time to the pick up and the drop off. The rate was actually for 1 1/2 hr to make the move. I am very satisfied with the entire process. Just note the time of pick up and when the move is complete to be sure you are in the time window frame.
We had Move 4 Less move furniture locally that we couldn't load into our cars. Oscar and the other crew member (sadly, I didn't get his name) were very efficient and professional--it was clear they knew what they were doing! On the administrative side, Erin was really helpful in getting us an affordable estimate and scheduled on short notice.
Before hiring Move4Less, I highly recommend you do otherwise. While I had 3 good experiences with them, the 4th was absolutely horrible, which is why I cannot overlook it. I interviewed several companies for our move from Reno to Las Vegas. Move4Less will reel you in by price-matching with a competitor and tell you all the things you want to hear. They bill for every 15 minutes, which they stand behind, saying they "track" their employees, and that their employees will absolutely not take advantage of that. However, I found this to be an absolute lie. Their employees most definitely DO take advantage of that, costing you a ton more money. On top of that, they take no care when loading your belongings, which I again experienced with our last service with them. And their insurance is a complete joke. You get 60 cents per pound for damaged or missing items. I even asked about additional insurance and was not given the proper information to purchase.I hired Move4Less for loading and unloading services, two loading services in Reno and two unloading services in Las Vegas. The first loading service was flawless. They arrived and immediately began working. There was a sense of urgency, they were prepared, they got things done. We weren't asked to pay or tip until the end when the job was done. We were so happy with their work, we bought them lunch and tipped them as well. It was a great experience with both the loading and unloading. I held off on writing a review because I wanted to ensure I got the same level of service for every service.Regarding the second loading service earlier this month, it was a night and day difference. When the loaders arrived, they assessed the remainder of our stuff for 15 minutes or so, which was not necessary as a majority of our stuff had been moved the first time. They also weren't prepared, they thought they were doing our first move as opposed to our final move. They also did not have the packing material that was part of our agreement. Thankfully, I had a lot of small boxes and pieces of cardboard left over, so they managed to put a ton of pieces together for the 4 TVs I had and my computer monitors. This was time consuming since it was smaller pieces, time which I paid for since they came unprepared. There was no sense of urgency at all, and it was very evident we were their only job on that day, so it seemed as though they were purposely prolonging it. Not only that, but the very first thing they asked for after taking a look around was payment for the estimate and a tip. A tip before lifting a single finger. I definitely did not appreciate that at all and was quite taken aback. Once they were done, they requested the additional payment and tip again. Unfortunately, my husband was with the loaders when they finished and felt obligated to tip, even though they didn’t even do a half-way decent job.As a result of the poor and improper loading services, I had ten pieces of furniture/appliance get damaged. And I won’t get enough money from their ridiculous insurance to replace one of those items. It is very evident to me that Move4Less does not properly train all employees they hire on how to load a moving truck, and they do not properly track their employees, which in turn makes their employees easily take advantage of the 15-minute increment charges.
When I contracted to have the move scheduled, there was no mention of an additional fee for the gas just to get the truck to my location. There was another hundred and thirty five dollars. The movers busted their butt, getting the move done. There was some breakage, and filing the claim was extremely frustrating. There was additional breakage that I repaired on site using my own material. Their ad now refers to senior moving. No, such product was offered to me.
