Such a great service! They were competitively priced. They arrived early on moving day. They contacted me first though to ensure an early arrival would work with my schedule and were willing to wait until the agreed upon time. They arrived right when they told me they would be there. They packaged and moved everything extremely carefully. They were extremely pleasant and polite to interact with. They unloaded everything very safely, and placed the items exactly where I wanted them. It was a really great experience and I would recommend them again to anyone.
I'll be succinct on my review, giving rating, explaining reasons and then final thoughts.Overall Experience : Terrible- Context : moving within the same community - 2 bed/bath apartment- Price : way above average (which somehow made me believe that the quality of their work would be better)- Submitted quote request online : informed that I wanted a full move, including complete packing services, disassembling and assembling furniture.Reasons for the rating :- Showed up 1 hour late for the work- Arrived at my house without wrapping tape : I needed to provide the tape- Arrived at my house without tools (I needed to provide the tools)- Forgot to pack and move one complete drawer - I needed to do it myself in very short time - final moving date- Left my working chair in the street - literally.- Broke my TV (2000+ USD)This is where I raise all red flags I can : I assess quality by the work itself as well as by the way the company acts when bad things happen.On this case both were way below par, and for a super premium price.After I called them to report my broken TV they said it was bad luck, but TVs are really fragile and these things happen. Gorilla management said that my contract states they offer me the mandatory CA insurance, and that's it. Based on this insurance, I'd get 60 USD for a 2000 USD TV !!If TVs are fragile and these things happen, they should have offered a warning beforehand and even additional insurance - what I would have gladly paid for.The worse : I was offered 300 USD to cover for the TV - as a sign. of goodwill, they say - If I signed a document in which I promise not to disclose anything about what happened. That's a money I would never accept.Gorila Movers management writes well and this should work when moving happens without issues. My experience with them was terrible, though.You can expect them writing a very polite answer to this review, saying the went above and beyond to solve my case. I will let you decide what you believe on and post some pictures here for your reference.All topics brought on this review are well documented.
I recently hired Gorilla Movers for a major moving project, which involved unloading several vaults full of furniture into my new home. From the start, their communication was excellent—even before they arrived. Overall, they did a good job. We had two houses to move into one bigger home. The first house had 10-15 boxes in one specific area that was marked “AMVETS”. The movers were told specifically to not load those boxes. Unfortunately, they arrived at the new house.Another issue is with our couches. They recline. Since they loaded up the couches, cords that were attached to the couches are now missing and we cannot recline them. Lastly, I have a beautiful, heavy, wooden floor length mirror that was damaged. My daughter has a night stand with 2 drawers. They were both emptied, but Gorilla taped the drawers for some unknown reason. When I took the tape off, it completely ripped off some of the nightstand.Things happen with movers, so some things should be expected. It’s just disappointing when spending $6,000.
