Recommend you avoid this moving company. The cost of our move was very expensive and nearly doubled from our original estimate; the service and quality of the move were poor overall; and the damage to our household goods was excessive and unacceptable.Over a dozen boxes were damaged, which included crushed and smashed boxes, split-open boxes with the contents spilling out, box flaps open revealing contents, and some completely broken apart and missing protective Styrofoam. It appeared to us to be unprofessional treatment of our goods. This damage was witnessed visually and signed by the moving team foreman/driver when he and his team unloaded our household goods. He was very surprised by the amount of damage to some of our furniture and the number of crushed and damaged boxes and seemed embarrassed he was delivering our goods to us in this condition. We filed a damage claim with the company, and their claims department offered us $247 to cover the damage. We felt their proposed settlement fell far short given the amount of damage to our things and told them it was completely unacceptable. After numerous attempts to come to a more reasonable resolution, we informed the claims department that we would not accept their offer and would not sign the release. Despite their most recent email to us last month stating they would again review our dispute and get back to us in a matter of a few days, we have not heard from them. And when we attempted to contact them just last week for an update, our email was rejected; seems they blocked us from further communication. We are very disappointed with this move and with the response from the claims department. We paid a lot of money for this move, which the contract stated includes, “professional door-to-door service and an itemized inventory indicating the condition of all items at origin before loading.” We believe we did not receive the professional care that we paid for and expected per the contract. Not only did we not receive an inventory of our goods with any noted damage, the pickup crew did not use numbered stickers/tags, had no uniforms, nametags, company t-shirts, etc., or any identifying credentials. The crew foreman at pick-up also had an expectation for meals (lunch and dinner, which we provided), tips for the crew, and then charged us a “staircase fee.” However, the incident that really upset us was when this pickup crew foreman later threatened us by phone after he loaded our household goods onto his truck by telling us he would “withhold or sell our household goods” if we didn’t immediately pay the carrier an additional pickup amount we were unaware of prior to the pickup. We’ve made well over a dozen moves across the country and overseas in the military and have never experienced this amount of damage to our things. Worst move in our lifetime.
***edit: not only did they take ONE FULL CALENDAR MONTH to deliver my belongings, multiple things were damaged in the move: Riedel wine glass, entertainment center, nightstand, and a hutch.Do not use this company. They are dishonest and very poor customer service. From imposing additional fees to lying about timeframes on your move, they cannot be trusted and I do not recommend for anyone to use Y and O moving.
They did an excellent job packing up all of my belongings they took extra care to wrap everything and protect my belongings. They were quick, and they took good care of me. They helped me out with an expertise delivery. Ultimately very happy with their services and would definitely use them again.
Post move Edit: Buyer BEWARE. They will break everything you own. All the nice blue blanket wraps seen in these photos are great for pick up. But where did they go on arrival? Interesting. Seriously. Don’t do it.—-Dino and the crew are A plus. Very kind. Very fast. Went extra mile. Considerate. All that you need for a move.
I’ve had a great experience with Y&O moving company. I moved from CA to TX, overall the move went smoothly and I got all my items delivered in time for me to resume my life without any delay. I especially appreciate the communication and customer service from all members of the company that I dealt with. Everyone works really hard at this company and they have a good time doing their job. Thank you so much for helping me and my family relocate to our new home.
