Recent reviews are mixed. Positive notes mention clear communication during transit and on-time arrivals for some moves. Critical feedback focuses on item damage, inadequate protection for fragile goods, and issues when goods are split or held for storage. Experiences also vary by crew between pickup and delivery.
United Vine van lines out of St. Louis Missouri came and packed me from Troy. Illinois did an excellent job, but that’s where it ended when I move down to Alabama had a different personnel that offloaded me all of my furniture, scraped and damaged drilled holes in through the back of my mirror dresser has gouges in it broken pieces very unprofessional would not recommend
Absolutely terrible move of household goods. Pickup crew was hours late, larger items + art was entirely unprotected other than using moving blankets which resulted in a bunch of damage. This included a fragile glass display case that was shattered due to not being protected at all except for a moving blanket.Overall, a complete lack of professionalism and an uncaring and lazy crew/supervisor on the pickup crew. Delivery later on was fine.
When we contracted with United, we told them of the likelihood of needing storage for a period of time. We were assured that would not be a problem, that we only needed to let them know the exact delivery date and everything would be delivered on that date. When the furniture was delivered, the driver eventually told us that not all of our goods were on the truck. Even though everything was packed into one truck originally, United decided to divide our goods and deliver them in two shipments with no specified date for the balance of our goods. This was never mentioned as a possibility. It took about two weeks before they finally delivered the rest of our goods. When our goods did arrive, there were many crushed and damaged boxes. Wood table ends were damaged and scratched. The first item off the truck - a Fisher Price Play Kitchen was cracked and broken. This shows very poor handling, with little or no respect and consideration for our property. The second delivery was only a driver. He had to move everything himself. If anything was too large or heavy, he just had to do the best he could moving the items. No mats, runners, or floor coverings were put down to protect our floors, carpets, and walls for the second delivery.Aside from not keeping us informed of what to expect, they never mentioned the possibility of two separate shipping dates. Their attitude was one of “this is the way it will be”. Not knowing what was happening, and the condition of our property when it arrived, just added unnecessary stress and aggravation. I would certainly never use this carrier again.
Run away. Fast.Long story short I moved across the country. My property was completely damaged and as if that wasn’t bad enough it was also delayed. A picture is worth a thousand words right? Please check mine out. I would never ever use this company again. I would not recommend United Van Lines to anyone. They damaged over $3000 worth of my property. They offered a settlement of less than $300. This company is a joke. Save your money and your property. Go with someone else.
We moved two households from Chicago to Dallas, and United Van Lines was exceptional from our first estimate, scheduling and loading of our things in Chicago to the unloading and assembly of our things in Dallas. They communicated with us every step of the way. They arrived on the day and at the time they said they would for loading the truck. They communicated with us during our trip confirming the status of the move. They arrived in Dallas on the date they said they would, and went above and beyond with the care they took in handling our household goods. Nothing was broken or damaged in the least. We were extremely happy and would definitely use them again.
