Customer feedback is mixed. Positive reviews frequently note punctual arrivals, helpful crews, and the ability to schedule quickly, even on short notice. Critical reviews cite concerns about handling and protection of items on some jobs, as well as communication or responsiveness after issues. Pricing is often described as reasonable, but experiences vary by crew and move complexity.

As I was not moving or using this company. They blocked my driveway. I called spoke to a wonderful women who told me the would move so I could park my car in the driveway. After the phone call ended she called me back about 15 minutes later stating they would be moving the car. Long story short they did not move the truck and the worker with the highlighter yellow/green seater. Choose to yell at me when asked to move the truck so I can park in my driveway. Not sure what kind of people this company hire. Seems like they’re a bit desperate for employees. But it was unnecessary. When your boss already called you and asked you to move twice and you didn’t

Hired them to load my belongings into a freight truck. Every item got damaged due to improper loading and pack weight. Will not answer calls or texts, giving the total silent treatment. Look at my photos. See how much weight was put on a glass table, crushing it. See how our wooden dining tables were not protected at all and got badly gouged. See my desk crushed down the center. See my bookshelf entirely caved in. See the bins completely crushed through.
You know the worst part? I wanted to be reasonable. I called and gently explained what happened, I understand, and all I wanted was their insurance info. They called back and asked for photos. When I sent them, they went totally dark on me, probably because they weren't expecting the photos to show so clearly how it's their fault. All I wanted was to put in an insurance claim. That's what insurance is for, right?
They ghost, ignore. Calls, voicemails, emails, texts, ignored. Such a miserable way to do business.

Square Deal Moving and Syracuse Movers are really great! I just used their services twice last month to help my parents move items out of one storage to another and to move heavy furniture to various locations. They were exactly on time and the workers were nice and very helpful. They even scheduled one move the day I called to help me get the job done on time! Reasonable prices and they also disposed of mattresses that could not be donated. They were very helpful to my parents and I and I will definitely use this company again when I need a moving company!

I would not recommend this company for moving.

My husband and I hired them to move us from Syracuse to Holland Patent. At first, things went well—they were flexible with our changing moving dates and seemed accommodating. On moving day, the crew was polite at first, but things quickly went downhill once the work began.

We had a crew of four movers start in Syracuse. None of them brought their own water, so my husband went out to buy Gatorades and water to keep them hydrated. Focus seemed to be lacking overall—one mover even took a phone interview during the job. Several large items were nearly left behind, including TVs, rugs, rug pads, and lamps, which I had to point out multiple times. I asked for one couch to be taken to the curb, and they packed the frame but left the cushions. They also told me they “don’t move fragile things,” leaving behind all our artwork, mirrors, and glass pieces.

At one point, I was handed a handful of loose screws from my bed frame and told they “don’t hold onto these things in case they lose them”—and it wasn’t even all of the screws. Despite repeatedly asking me to do final sweeps of the house, the crew had already packed up the truck and were standing around asking, “Are we done yet?” Meanwhile, I—four months pregnant—was carrying out large items they had forgotten, including a 10’x14’ rug pad, boxes, and couch cushions, while they watched and ate fallen fruit from nearby trees.

We ultimately had to settle for “good enough” because we couldn’t move everything ourselves. Nearly two weeks later, we’re still driving back and forth to retrieve items the movers left behind, including a headboard, artwork, an additional rug and pad, totes, trash cans, twin mattresses, and a bicycle.

During the move, I called the office to express concerns. The woman who answered said she’d speak with her son—one of the movers—and get back to me, but she never did.

When we arrived at the new house, the problems continued. Only three movers showed up, as one had gone home after complaining of low blood sugar. Furniture was dragged across our newly refinished hardwood floors, leaving scratches. I overheard them referring to me as “little miss attitude” behind my back. They also left rugs rolled in corners and didn’t fully set up rooms until I asked multiple times.

When it came time to pay, I finally heard from the office again—but none of my concerns were addressed. I was almost charged for an unused mattress pad and had to advocate for myself to remove that fee. The invoice was not itemized, so I’m not sure what additional charges were applied. I paid $1,993 for the move, and the crew audibly scoffed when I declined to leave a tip.

Overall, this was the worst moving experience I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a moving company that is attentive, organized, and respectful, I recommend looking elsewhere.
