The day got off to a bad start. The owner didn't seem to be in a good mood and was irritated because I had a kitchen table and four chairs that I hadn't mentioned when we first agreed to the rental. He also seemed very worried about not getting paid because he'd been ripped off in the past (which isn't my problem).But the star of the day was his employee, Jonathan. What a super friendly and motivated guy, the kind of guy you want on your team! He's the one who suggested I go get the money and show it to the owner, and he was absolutely right! The atmosphere changed, and everything went well from then on.Thanks, Jonathan! ?? Without you, it would have been much more difficult.
I strongly advise against using this moving company. The experience was awful. If I could give zero stars, I would. When we called to schedule our appointment, the owner quoted us $140 (while many others charge $125) for four movers. To our great surprise, when they arrived, there were only three. I thought to myself, we'll manage. The second surprise was that instead of moving into a reasonably sized cube van, they arrived with a trailer that took forever to load (which meant it cost more because they were paid by the hour), even though we had specified moving a house. During the walkthrough, I showed him what needed to be moved, and he replied, "I move 5 1/2 apartments, I'm not sure it'll fit" (so if you have a house, forget it). Third surprise: speed is definitely not their strong point. Luckily I helped out because it would have cost a fortune (at $140 an hour, cigarettes are expensive for 10 minutes). Furthermore, the owner is incredibly unfriendly and speaks very disrespectfully to customers and even his employees (wow, I've never seen anything like it). And to top it all off, at the end, we reminded him that he had told us there would be four guys and he refused to adjust the price, yelling at us that he was the best without giving us an invoice, so it was probably all undeclared. Seriously, think about it when you call him; there must be better options. This was the first time I'll ever use a moving company, and it will be the last, I promise.
The guys know what they're doing and work well and are friendly. They arrived on time and worked quickly. Along the way, I was even able to change the route to have some stock delivered and there were no problems. The boss is on task throughout the job, but strict. Super friendly once the job is done.
I hesitated between 5 stars or 0. Mr. Jean and the young people are super nice and professional. As for Pierre, he should retire. Very aggressive from 8 a.m. in the morning, I told myself that I would not have wanted to be the customer scheduled at 3 p.m.! Very hot and humid day certainly but no valid reason to make others suffer his mood! Too bad for the other excellent employees and Mr. Jean who put up with this toxic person all day long. Otherwise I would have highly recommended them but I will long remember the looks full of hatred of this character who lets off steam on those around him. ??
I hired JB for my move this week. I was amazed by the speed and efficiency of their team. The guys covered all my furniture with blankets to protect it from the snow and were really careful with fragile items like the television.They were courteous and attentive. And on top of that, it cost me much less than I expected. I'm very satisfied with my experience and I recommend JB Moving.
