Alex & his team were amazing! Through them, the whole process was seamless and I felt very reassured and comforted with my household items in their hands. They took their time to carefully and throughout pack and load all of my items, working efficiently and effectively. I always new of Hilford to be a high-end moving company, so when it came time for me to move, that's who I called! Their price was reasonable, and the entire experience was top notch. The 4 movers who came out to pack up my house were polite, patient and very competent! They wrapped all of my large and valuable items very carefully, and were accommodating to all of my requests. Likewise, the 2 movers who unloaded my belongings at my storage location were hard working, patient and kind. I've also used Hilford once before with a client, and we had the same experience, so I can highly recommend them for moving solutions!
Top notch work, from the super accurate estimate by Pete Cresto to the hard work, professionally done, by David and his team, including Tony, Jerry, Pete and Jose. We were not as finished with the packing as we had hoped, but these guys dug in, carefully wrapped and moved all our items carefully, checking to be sure everything went to the right place. When a totally unexpected little rain event (in August!) threatened a big bunch of boxes that were staged on an open porch as per our request, they hurried and moved them under the porch roof. When my hubby and I slowed down in the “wardrobe filling and emptying” department, they totally took over and finished for us. AND came in under the estimated time. Angels in t-shirts for these two pooped 65+ year olds! The guys were super cheerful and their teamwork made the normal stress of a move go quickly and easily. Thank you, Hilford!
We recently moved from Santa Barbara to Utah. Pete Cresto, the salesperson at Hilford was one of those guys who seemed so sincere. Lived and died for customer service. And truly, he gave us good customer service until we signed the sales agreement to use his company. After that, he never returned a phone call.The moving van driver rushed the packing team because he had his family in the cab, and was eager to get on his way (he was taking them with him across the country to go on vacation). If you look at the attached photos, you can see the movers took very little care in how they packed. Toward the end, they simply placed things in the truck without securing them.When the van arrived in UT, the unloading crew did not arrive on the day we were to unload. The unloading had to be rescheduled.When the driver opened the truck in Utah, there was literally a pile of our belongings! I was there and took a photo (attached). Our furniture and other belongings in a pile -- dented, scratched, broken. As they finally unloaded, we watched a parade of one damaged item after another, as the movers brought them into our new house.Although we took good photos of the damage as it came off the truck, the moving company makes you go through an extensive process to file a claim, and systematically denies most of what is claimed, even though we have exceptional documentation.We have moved many times over the last five decades. Never had we had such a bad experience.And, guess what? Pete still hasn't called!Almost every review I've ever written is a positive one. I hate to say bad things about any company. However, in this case, I owe it to future movers to warn you away from this group.
