It was a pleasure working with Shine Painting here in Newark, JAY the owner- was very prompt in communication, flexible, and gave competitive pricing for exterior house painting. He helped me get the project done in a short deadline schedule despite the unpredictable weather we were having in early February and I really appreciated his honestly, integrity, and commitment. Jay's crew, JIN the foreman- was great, very easy to talked to, he made sure all details I pointed out was done correctly, even went above and beyond the scope of the project. My house was last painted 25-30 something years ago but still in good shape, he cared enough as to what the outcome of new paint if has not been primed before actual color painting, though the new paint itself is combination of prime and paint, no questions asked he knew exactly what to do. GIOVANI did great too, worked really hard tackling the project, although he was not able to do the finishing touches. ARTURO took over the final touches the last day did great as well. OVER ALL - Jay and his painting crew did a PHENOMINAL job giving my house a new face to look at. Thank YOU SHINE PAINTING, WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK. I had the pleasure of working with Jay, the owner of Shine Painting, for the second time in the summer of 2025. He first painted my home in 2003, and that paint job lasted more than 20 years! Still, I didn’t automatically choose him again. I actually interviewed about half a dozen companies, but ultimately chose Jay for this second time, not only because of the cost, but because of his robust experience and track record -- and I’m glad I did.From the start, Jay was prompt, professional, and thorough. Since I was also having a roofing job done beforehand, we coordinated for nearly a month to ensure the projects didn’t overlap. His communication and flexibility made the process seamless.For this project, I kept the same two-tone color scheme with a third trim color. Jay carefully explained the paint options, their quality differences, and pricing so I could make an informed choice. Once work began, the team -- led by foreman Martin and an assistant -- was consistently punctual, respectful, and attentive. They spent the first couple of days prepping: sealing, taping, and protecting areas around my home, then spent the remaining days painting. The entire job on my modest-sized home took about 6–7 days.I especially appreciated how responsive they were. If I asked for a window frame or trim detail to be adjusted, it was always done without hesitation and with the utmost courtesy.There was a minor incident of overspray into my garage that touched a small part of my vehicle. Jay immediately acknowledged the mistake, offered several solutions, and promptly reimbursed me after I used a clay bar kit to resolve it. His honesty and willingness to make things right without any quibbling was a welcome reminder of an exemplary work ethic. To be fair, I also should have moved the car out beforehand, and consider this a true anomaly.The finished result is stunning -- I have a beautifully painted home once again. Even better, Jay’s pricing was extremely competitive: in one case, nearly a quarter of what another painter quoted, so the value for money is incredible! However, what truly sets him apart is his integrity and commitment to standing by his work.As a senior, this may well be the last time I paint my home exterior, but after writing this review I realized Jay also does interior work. I’ll be calling him regarding painting my kitchen and bathroom soon. That, I think, is the strongest endorsement I can give: I trust him enough to hire him again, and I recommend him wholeheartedly for any painting project.

Shine Painting just finished painting two rooms and all of the hallways in my old house. The crew ("big" Raul and "little" Raul) were prompt, polite and kept the work area immaculate. The quality of their work was just superb (which was impressive as some of the surfaces needed a lot of prep work). Working with Simon and Jay (managers) was also great as they were extremely responsive and helpful. As someone who has hired lots of people to work on my house over the years, I am convinced that Shine Painting is one of the best! I cannot recommend them too highly.
This review has been long due. Right from reaching out to Simon and getting both interior and exterior painting done, the entire process was extremely smooth. Simon was always responsive and helped get the painting work done in a reasonable amount time and at a competitive price. Simon, Dorian and the crew did an amazing job and went above and beyond to meet our expectations. They did a phenomenal job and a few of my friends complemented on the painting work done on our home. Highly recommend Simon and crew for anyone looking for professional painting.
