Customer feedback often highlights responsive communication and courteous crews, with several noting on-time completion and clean results, especially on cabinet projects and full-home interiors. Some reviewers reported concerns about coating coverage and finish selection on railings, asking for clearer expectations around number of coats and materials. Overall ratings suggest many positive outcomes alongside a few quality-control issues that clients wanted addressed. Prospective customers may benefit from detailed written scope and finish samples before work begins.

(EDIT) I couldn't get over the fact that the paint was so thin and that drywall mud could be seen in multiple locations... So I did some additional research to prove my theory that this company is a fraud! To fix this review, Cornerstone Custom Painting, Inc must come back and apply the 2nd coat of paint that they never applied!
In their contract that was signed, they were to "spray 2 coats finish paint". The contractor only did one coat.
The contractor states that passing the wand overlapping the previous line is considered 2 coats. I have talked with other contractors and even consulted AI to which all state that two coats is 2 SEPARATE applications of paint. In other words, one full pass, letting it dry and then doing another pass.

I have been going back and forth on whether I should leave a review or not. Typically I only give a review if I am blown away by service or quality. This case, after looking at the paint job that was done in my home for the past several months, I cannot find any reason in me to be content that I paid full price for such a sloppy job.
From the thin paint, to the complaining owner and his wife fighting me on their standards, I decided to make this review public.
The owner never admitted fault, to this day. He expected to be paid in full even though he didn't fulfill his contractual obligation (which he was paid in full because I felt bad for his sub that he hired)
First, he didn't even use his own guys. He hired a sub to come in and perform the job.
The paint was thin and to this day, I can still see the gray drywall as if there is a transparency in the paint.
The doors were touched together (almost every one) and had to be rolled which made it gritty looking and changed the sheen.
The ceiling was only sprayed one way and (thankfully one of my rooms was a dark paint or I would've mistaken plaster for paint.
They missed certain areas such as around the corner of walls and under the stairs (which btw is open) The owner said it's just a closet, who cares what the paint looks like.
The owner also told me that had he known my expectations he would've charged me much more. Since my house wasn't "a multimillion dollar home" he gave me a cheap job (assuming I didn't hire a company called "custom painting" for a custom paint job)
Second, the prep work was a joke to say the least. The tape was not even with the trim and windows and it bleed over into the wrong areas. The patching was not sanded and left massive bulges (to which the owner stated it was because I used big nails) To his lack of owning up to his mistakes, they were standard gauge finish nails that are used on custom homes. I have my own pictures of when I painted over my other home areas where you can't even see the nail spots because it was filled and sanded properly.
Third, I have included pictures for future potential customers to see to base their decision on whether they should hire Cornerstone.
Again, this is just my experience. It seems that other people received better treatment and I just wish that would've been the case for me.

Cornerstone painting exceeded my expectations! From the first contact with Brian until completion, the communication was great. His staff is courteous and friendly. They transformed my tired 90s kitchen into a bright, beautiful space. Couldn’t be happier. I would definitely recommend them for any of your painting needs.

We hired Cornerstone Custom Painting to paint the entire interior of our home (ceiling, trim, doors, walls), a $20K+ job. There were a considerable amount of repairs that needed to be addressed before it could be painted. This was a challenging job, and we were pleased with the work that was done.

Our frustration is with the lacquer that was applied to the banister, railing, and kitchen island. By Cornerstone’s choosing, the banister and island base were lacquered a number of weeks prior to the railing and island cabinets. Understandably, lacquer mixed at different times, even by the same store, may have slight variations in color. The variation in color between the banister and island base versus the railing and island cabinets is quite obvious leaving prominent features of our home mismatched (the railing opposes the banister in the front entryway). Brian directed me to the paint rep. who never returned my many voicemails or texts which led me to contact the paint company directly. I spoke with the manager, and he made an appointment to come to our home to see the lacquer. Then, after he spoke to Brian, he called me back and said he couldn’t do anything and that because Brian lost the original batch of mixed lacquer (applied to the banister and island base) it was the painter’s issue, not the paint mixing company’s. Ultimately, the only way to ensure that the lacquer matches is to have all the lacquer needed to complete the job mixed at the same time. To his credit, Brian did reapply the lacquer to the railing and island cabinets, but it is still clearly off. Brian refuses to accept responsibility for things that went wrong (there were number of minor issues). We will eventually hire another company to fix the lacquer.

Response to Brian’s response:
We didn’t realize what we were getting into when we purchased a condemned house. The repairs were extensive. Your employees were punctual, skilled, professional, and courteous.

I had no intentions of addressing the issue of specific colors on this platform. It is accurate to say that the color of the various pieces that were lacquered were not what we originally desired (standard extra white to match the ceiling, trim, and doors); however, there were communication issues which Brian and I discussed and we both made compromises. Color choice for this review is irrelevant. We are resolved to the Alabaster color lacquer. Our issue is that the Alabaster lacquer doesn’t match. The expectation regardless of color choice is that the color (whatever it may be) should be consistent. The pictures clearly show that the banister and island base are indeed Alabaster, but the railing and island cabinets are an obscure unknown color with hints of green. Brian told me that it takes 4+ weeks to cure to its final color. I contacted him after 5 weeks (see dates below). We paid him because he threatened to put a lien on our house. I wish we hadn’t. We barely spoke the day he (re)installed. Brian did not verify with me or my husband, who was working from home, that the color was right. Brian should have noticed that it wasn’t. I assumed the lacquer would cure to the right color (Alabaster), as he claimed earlier prior to repainting, but it didn’t. Then Brian blamed the paint company. Now he is claiming that my dissatisfaction with his work is because I chose a color with which I am now displeased. Clearly, this is not the case.

I reached out to Brian several times in November, and again in January after the holidays, about a fair resolution after the paint company denied fault. He never responded.

The job started June 27, 2022. Brian installed the railing and island cabinets August 22, 2022. I contacted him about the lacquer color September 30, 2022. It has been just over 6 months total. The following quote was copied and pasted from his website:
“Every project is backed with a one year warranty and is completed on time with unparalleled workmanship, dedicated customer service and attention to detail.”

This is the firts time we've used cornerstone custom painting. We had a him paint our entire house and we have a very high ceilings. His workers were very respectful and they did it in a timely manner. Will definitely be using him again. Thanks Brian

Brian with Cornerstone Custom Painting and his team, did a fantastic job painting my cabinets and hutch. I had crown molding added to the top of the cabinets and new handles installed, which turned out beautifully.

Brian was professional, responsive to my requests, and completed the project on time.

I highly recommend Cornerstone Custom Painting.
