Lance, owner at Underhill, was great from the first instant I walked in. His customer service and care for others is top-notch, which can be difficult to experience at many businesses.He was very helpful in, first letting me borrow a paint sample book to determine best colors for 1-2 weeks for a small refundable deposit and he is very patient even when he is busy helping multiple guests. Those paint sample books are in high demand.Lance remained calm, collected and supportive of his guests as we were all deciding what to purchase for our paint projects. I visited the shop multiple times as he custom created the paints that I needed, as I was putting my project together piece by piece and he was always helpful and kind.Also, Lance has a portion of inventory unrelated to painting - a well-thought-out plumbing inventory and other items of great benefit within and outside of the category of painting. A visit to this store is like going back in time, when you enter a privately-owned business and the owner smiles and acknowledges you, and proceeds to offer you a nationally-recognized quality product at 1/2 to 1/3 the price of big stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, and Sherwin Williams.I expected a watered-down product involving several coats of paint. No, it was the real deal: a thick, one-coat, nationally-recognized brand of paint that covered the job in one coat...at an unimaginably low price.For years, I have been wary of this store's sidewalk sign, "One gallon of paint for $10." After giving this store one try, I will NEVER, N-E-V-E-R purchase paint anywhere else.
I had two other professionals flake because they had bigger jobs and I was running out of time to get the project done. I called Underhill Painting. They were responsive. They showed up every time. They gave me a great price and did a nice paint job for me. They also went the extra mile to make sure I had a paint job I was happy with.I say, communicate your needs and concerns in advance. They’ll let you know if they can help or not. If an issue comes up, reach out to them. They were totally transparent with me at all stages of the project. Yes this is the place to get your paint at a really good price. They are way better than Home Depot and Mr. Goofy himself is such a professional that he can mix any color you like with his eyes closed. Lol not only did I get my paint but I also got a great price and good advice l. Just the whole experience was nice. Thank you so much. You have a customer for life.
