We will never use or recommend CertaPro Painters again. The amount of money we spent did not match the quality we received.First, they cracked two electrical boxes and this, along with a number of other issues, left us frustrated with the overall lack of attention to detail throughout the project. The initial estimate process was thorough and professional, and based on that experience, we chose CertaPro even though it was the more expensive option. Unfortunately, the quality and professionalism we expected were not upheld once the painting began.We found ourselves needing to closely monitor the work to ensure that both obvious items and basic details were not missed. We are having to deal with paint on our carpet, curtains, and bedsheets. Painters tape was left in multiple spots and just painted over. Screws that were left in the walls per the contract instructions were painted over, requiring us to cut into the notches in order to remove the paint. When we removed nails, we had to point out multiple areas where holes had not been filled.Although the crew did return to correct some of the issues, these mistakes should not have occurred in the first place—especially after our detailed walkthrough with the painters. Additionally, communication during the project was extremely poor. We received almost no updates, and decisions were made without consulting us. For example, an outlet was painted over because the crew “decided” the cover did not look good. We should have been contacted before any such decision was made. Along with the outlet, there was also a light switch that got painted over and no longer flips smoothly; both the outlet and the switch will need to be replaced.While some issues were eventually addressed, others were simply left unresolved. At that point, we no longer had confidence in CertaPro’s workmanship and preferred to fix other issues ourselves or with a different company.In comparison to other contractors we worked with during this time, CertaPro was by far the most difficult in terms of communication. Information had to go through multiple layers which led to delays, confusion, and a lack of timely follow-up. We repeatedly asked for clarity on additional costs to avoid surprises, yet we never received that information.Finally, the cleanup has been a significant burden. Due to the popcorn ceiling removal and general sanding, dust was left everywhere including in the HVAC drain. We have had to scrub down and clean every inch of the house. Some of the other contractors we had in the house took notice and commented on the unprofessional job of the painting.We have been patient and transparent throughout this process, consistently communicating our concerns from the start. However, this process was incredibly stressful and unprofessional.
Beautiful job- done on time and on budget. It is rare to see those three things from any kind of contractor. The will be used for all of our pairing jobs from now on!
Efren arrived on time. He was courteous and began his work right away. He completed my small project, cleaned up the area and did a very nice job. We are very pleased with his work. The staff in the office were helpful and got us on the schedule quickly. I would recommend certa Pro.
Brendan O’Neil was our sales guy who was very nice, friendly and straight forward. He gave us a very detailed order and very competitive price. The staff was amazing! they did a great job and we couldn’t be happier with their work. We will absolutely use them for any painting needs that May arise in the future.
