I had an excellent experience with CertaPro Painter out of Waterloo Two painters, Leo an Eric, completed the job with Eric managing the project and Leo primarily handling the painting. Both did a fantastic job from start to finish, Leo took exceptional care with the details, and the wall were painted with incredible precision and a flawless finish. You can truly see the pride they both take in there work. The professionalism was consistent from the moment they arrived until the moment they left.The professionalism extended beyond the painters. From Trish who provided a clear and thorough quote to Kelly who handled payment smoothly after the job was completed, the entire company demonstrated outstanding customer service. I am extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend CertaPro Painters out of Waterloo.

I highly recommend CertaPro Painters!! I chose them for my “moving into a new home” paint job because I liked the very professional tone to all their correspondence and contact with me. I had only viewed the house a few times and didn’t have the opportunity to show it to them in person, so I wasn’t absolutely sure about all the measurements. Trish at CertaPro was very accommodating and gave me good pricing as the job grew and grew. I felt confident that they would do a good job. In fact, they did a great job. Leo did the painting, and he was excellent. He was professional, yet easy-going, quick, yet meticulous, and actually, a joy to have in the house. I am very pleased with the outcome. I will certainly contact CertaPro for my next paint job.

I tried to leave a longer review with details as to why I’m only leaving two stars but I exceeded the character limit. In short, our estimator left the company without leaving a secondary contact, he also said certain items were included in our contract / CertaPro’s work prep which ended up not being included. The sales manager, ignored all phone calls and e-mails I had after receiving my project deposit. The painter arrived at site told us the work we thought we paid for was not being included and CertaPro would reach out. They did not, the next day they left entirely unannounced without the work being completed, and then had to be told to come back to finish the work. They complained about what CertaPro paid them, constantly saying “they are just a subcontractor” so they can’t do anything about revising our work. A project manager came out to see the project the next day, they didn’t really review the work being done. I think they were just sent to make it seem like they were doing something about all the issues I ran into. They offered a discount for all the issues I had to date. “Project completion” we did three walk-through and I pointed out issues and areas of incomplete work multiple times. We marked them with tape so they weren’t missed and the painter would “fix all the areas” but clearly he was actually not fixing all the areas. He was in a rush to get to his next project as I’m assuming they aren’t paid on an hourly basis so the quicker they finish the more money they make… Final state of the project was not what I would consider “professional”. At least when they left the job for good, I was notified instead of them just walking out like they did the first time. The manager added doors into our work “for free” (I thought they were being paid for in the original quote as that’s what I asked the estimator for). This was appreciated, however, the painter asked if we wanted one or both sides done. I asked for both and said we can pay additional costs if needed. I am 7 months pregnant so painting is not something I have the time or energy for currently. Doors were painted but only 1 coat was done and only on one side of the door. When I had to pay the remainder of the bill I mentioned the discount that the project manager said we would receive be got $200 off of our $2700 job. We are just glad they left the paint behind so we didn’t have to purchase more paint to finish up areas on our own. We gave up after 3 walk throughs and realized the painter just wasn’t really interested in doing a good job. We didn’t want to continue to drag the project out any longer as it was just causing stress and headaches everyday. The manager was good at offering to “fix” things, but maybe should have offered to come out and review things himself instead of sending a project manager who was only here for 2 minutes just to say “Hi” to the painter. I was really excited about professional painting services and at 7 months pregnant I was hoping this would take a large load of my plate. Unfortunately it just added stress and we were left feeling like all the work was definitely not worth $2500 at the end of the day. I’d recommend shopping around before starting a project with CertaPro unfortunately. I was really hopeful with all the good reviews, and it’s upsetting that this was our experience. Update: I would just like to add that the owner (Paul) has reached out to me after receiving my review. He was very keen to try and resolve the issues we faced, great customer service and truly passionate about his business. This response gave me hope that in most situations any issues that occur will be resolved by the great ownership at CertaPro. Thanks Paul!
