East Bay Structural - 2025/2026:Acquired a 100 yrs old house in Berkeley Hills with a 80-90% rehab/building process incl. structural/seismic/foundation.EBS had a crew of 4 guys full time on site for a period of 6 months.True story about EBS:For our seismic/foundation job, we interviewed 7-8 reputable GCs (provided by our experienced Civil Engineer in Berkeley).Sure enough, we also asked them about Water Intrusion/Dry-Rot/Structural repairs.Upon obtention of the reports and unknowingly to us, they all had the same comment about EBS : "When it comes to dry-rot and structural repair, EBS is the "Gold Standard" in that particular field."These reputable GCs do not handle water intrusion but only foundation/seismic.We gave to EBS : Dry-Rot repairs / New Structural / Water Intrusion / Stucco / 20+ sliding doors and windows to replace / 40' ledger for a 20' high large deck.We gave seismic retrofit & foundation to another GC.Pricing - they are not the cheapest but here's why:This company has a significant amount of experience and expertise in that particular field (+30 yrs). They specialize in this field and don't do anything else.Knowledgeable and efficient carpenters. Each guy has at least 20+ yrs experience in their respective domain.Team fully insured, WC, etc.. No outsourcing. All the materials used in our project were only top tiers quality from Piedmont Lumber Company. All their work is performed with permits and per code. No cutting corners. They have excellent warranty and stand by their work. They take pride in their workmanship. They break down all their bids so no hidden and suspicious costs (i.e: many contractors, in order to keep their cost low, will use cheaper materials, outsource unlicensed and uninsured persons (digging, demo, etc.) to only finalize the remaining items themselves, etc.... therefore higher profit margins). For what they bring to the table, their pricing is well worth it.One reputable GC told me: " ... when it comes to water intrusion and dry rot repairs, you have to be really careful with the small and inexperienced contractors. Water goes everywhere if improperly addressed ... " I concur. If you own a commercial asset or even just residential property and truly want to address these issues at its core, use EBS.Thank you boys for all your hard and good work these past months.
