Brody Brothers Pest Control in Owings Mills

We've had a subscription with Brody Brothers for a few years through our landlord, and they are a professional and communicative team, but unfortunately don't stick the landing.

- Brody Brothers comes to our home for quarterly treatment for general pests, and our house is still constantly ridden with carpet beetles, oriental roaches, ants, and spider beetles.

- We had a several-month long mouse problem that got to the point of seeing a mouse run across the floor in broad daylight on a regular basis and finding droppings daily. Every time Brody Brothers came out, they sent a new technician that wasn't familiar with our place, and identified new gaps to fill. Why did every technician miss gaps then? This didn't solve the problem.

- Brody Brothers incorrectly identified a bug as a June Beetle twice when I told them it looked like a bed bug. After a third instance of my insistence it looked like a bed bug, they agreed and scheduled a date 5 days later (3 business days) for an inspection. This was too long for us to wait actively seeing the bugs in the home so we sought a different company.

- Once the other company identified the bugs as bat bugs and confirmed we actually had bats in the home, wildlife handled the bats, and we called Brody Brothers to help treat the home for the remaining bugs. They flat out said they can't treat for bat bugs, even when I asked if they could just apply pesticide around the home, they said no.

I want to say I've had a good experience with Brody Brothers as they are a professional and reliable team, but when I run the numbers of every pest issue they've come out for, none have been resolved.

My one year contract for mice control comes to an end this month. Service is always thorough and technician Ty is very professional and knowledgeable.

The only negative is poor communication within the office. I booked my appointment 3 weeks ago and requested a first appointment at 8AM because of an appointment I have at 10AM. The office said no problem especially since I was booking the appointment so far in advance. At 8:30 today I call the office because nobody has shown up. I was told that I am second on the list so probably between 9 and 10AM. I am told that the schedule is made morning of depending on technician route so the request to be first means nothing. I was also told that the first appointment is 2 miles away from my home. They seriously can't rearrange a schedule 2 miles away. Disappointed. It's 9AM now, and still waiting for the technician.

I decided to switch from my current quarterly pest control provider to Brody Brothers because they came highly recommended and offered additional services, including sealing holes in my basement stone walls where pests might be entering.

Unfortunately, my experience ended before the service even began. I scheduled an initial appointment for today with a 2:00–4:00 PM arrival window and took time off work to be home for the visit. However, I received a call the morning of the appointment informing me that they would not be able to come due to other service calls in my area.

While I understand that scheduling challenges and unexpected issues can arise, the same-day cancellation was disappointing, especially since I am leaving town this evening and specifically wanted the service completed before my trip. The next available opportunity would not work with my schedule, so I decided not to move forward.

Because the appointment never took place, I can't comment on the quality of their actual pest control services. My review is based solely on the scheduling and customer service experience, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations.

Having used a major national company in the past, we are so happy to have Brody Brothers now! They provide excellent service - Brandi always comes to our house and takes time to explain what she finds and what she thinks we may need. She identified a termite invasion in its early stages and set us up with treatment right away that worked exactly as described. They are very flexible in scheduling and I love the email alerts that Brandi is on the way. I would absolutely never choose a national company over them now that I know the difference choosing local makes!

I am disappointed with my experience. The initial phone call and first service visit gave me confidence that the issue with the sugar ants would be handled promptly. The technician explicitly told me that someone would return the very next day to complete the exterior treatment upstairs because it could not be finished during the initial visit. That never happened.

Instead, I had to call and chase the company for an update, only to be told they couldn’t even confirm what their own technician had promised. After finally scheduling a follow-up appointment, the second technician cancelled during the scheduled arrival window, after I had already rearranged my day to be home. There was no proactive communication, no apology, and no sense of urgency whatsoever. It’s quite stressful for me, as it takes forever to schedule someone to come out and the ants are exacerbating my anxiety.

More than two weeks after the initial service, I am still finding ants and other bugs throughout my home. I am pregnant and have a toddler, so resolving a pest problem is not a minor inconvenience, it’s a matter of safety and peace of mind. Despite making that clear, I have received no meaningful concession, no urgency, and no indication that this company values my time or my business.

Based on my experience, I would be cautious about relying on the abundance of five-star reviews. Perhaps some customers receive attentive, reliable service, but that has certainly not been my experience. Poor communication, cancelled appointments, and an unresolved pest problem are not what I expected from a professional extermination company. If this doesn’t get resolved I will have to look for another service provider sadly. I had high hopes.

About time I made a review for Brody Brothers and the great work they do for my and my parents homes. We moved into a home with ant and mice infestations and hired Brody Brothers about 1.5 years ago to manage these ongoing issues. They are fantastic! Worth every penny. They are reliable, on-time, so friendly, super knowledgeable, and they never rush the visit. Quote the contrary, they patiently hear out my updates and ask great follow up questions. They’ve tackled challenging infestations with such positivity, and always treat keeping in mind the pets and little ones in our home. With their continued efforts, we’ve narrowed down the mouse problem to very hard to reach upper attic corners. Well, at the last visit, Sean and Brad went above and beyond by crawling 30-40 ft through a small crawl space and in an unfinished and insulated attic to address my concerns for the scratching noises coming from that hard to reach area. They set traps and walked me through the next steps and follow up plan. They even got on the roof and did a thorough search for access points and advised me on tree trimming to minimize accessibility. These guys know what they’re doing, they are thorough, and I love that they think through the small details like bringing rubber soles to put on their shoes while walking in my house. I highly recommend Brody Brothers for your pest issues, and have referred them to my parents who are experiencing a similar pest issue. Thank you guys for all you do!

I had a wonderful experience with Brody Brothers. Matt and Eric were not only knowledgeable and professional, but also incredibly respectful in my home. They inspected everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions, and offered clear recommendations. They truly put my mind at ease. Wish we didn’t need Brody Brothers, but we do! Very happy with our service package. So far three techs have been out to address our pest issues. All have been good, but the most recent tech, Matthew really took his time to patch up any remaining problem areas. Will definitely request him for future follow ups.
