David was very accommodating. Let me know the day before service and met me so I could also let him inside my rental home. Very friendly and great customer service
When the rep came to my door he said this was a LOCAL business in Chillicothe. He emphasized the local aspect and told me if I tried him I would get a discount and would be contributing to the local economy. All of this was not really true. The business is not local to Chillicothe. It’s in Columbus and Tipp City. They are not transparent and I feel like everything was misrepresented. We moved, and will be charged almost $400 in termination fees by someone in Tipp City who calls from an unidentified number. Of course, this is because when you sign up, they make you use a credit card for the monthly charges. This is not a local to Chillicothe business, even though they try to represent as such. The tech who serviced my house was not even the “local” guy, but someone else. Make sure you know exactly what you are signing up for, and if you are dissatisfied, move, or desire to switch companies, know you will be paying a huge termination fee.
Very highly recommended! Every person I have talked to is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, patient and extremely helpful. Will call or text you before and after appointment. I appreciate all of the time and willingness to explain things and work with me because I have a very crazy work schedule.
******** EDIT: 8/28/25 I did bump this up due to a man there named Patrick who was a great guy who found a hornet nest and took the extra time to treat it. He was super nice and understanding. ********Do not fall for the pushy salesperson coming to your door. I couldn’t get him off the porch. Don’t answer the door! They catch you off guard, talk you into stuff, and lie to get you to sign up! After finally agreeing to let them spray (after I told the salesman no several times), signing a contract that was just flashed on an iPad quickly, a month after the original spray I am still having spiders everywhere, I asked for them to spray again (which is part of the contract), saying our finished basement is full of them. They went down there and came back up within a couple minutes and said they sprayed. I can’t say they didn’t spray, but the time frame in which the person spraying was in there, they would have to be moving at sonic speeds to accomplish spraying our basement. Now 6 weeks from the original spraying of my house and they still haven’t come back out to spray I voice my complaint about there still being a ton of spiders everywhere. They say the spray “needs time and a couple treatments” and that they only come out every 8 weeks… I have to wait 2 months for your spray to START working??? We were also told what’s so great about their service is you won’t have webs everywhere like we “usually get” (we didn’t really have webs when using the Walmart stuff) and guess what.. we have more webs now than in previous years. They also had originally said (aka the pushy salesman said) I could tack on services later, like if I wanted rodent control or a mosquito spray for the yard, for an extra $10 a month for the months I would want them, only to be told differently later. Then I also found out THEY ONLY DO 5 TREATMENTS!!! I’m paying close to $60 a month for a year and I only get 5 treatments, with the first one not doing anything apparently. Then if you want to get out of the contract they charge you $400. I am so unhappy with their business. Lesson learned, never sign anything until you can read over it completely. Go to Walmart and pick up “Home Defense”, and spray it around your house. That is what I usually use and I can tell you from experience, It works faster and better than what these people are selling. And it doesn’t cost you over $700.
Very happy with the service. Sean has great communication and listened to my concerns. He made a trip back to my home to check out a concern I forget to tell him about on his first trip. He sprayed to area and gave us direction on how to proceed. He stated if I see anymore activity, to call them and they would come back out.I am happy to have such great, honest and customer friendly service. I highly recommend Sean and Essential Pest Control! .
