I was with my sister during her call with the Northwest about a billing issue. She’s been a customer for three years and reached out today about confusion on a billing issue stemming from the fact that Northwest doesn’t bill when the service is done— it might be a couple of weeks. During the conversation, the representative began speaking to her in a demeaning tone. My sister calmly asked the woman not to talk down to her, and the representative replied, “I’m not talking down to you—you just don’t understand!” Another woman in the background started laughing.

I couldn’t believe they were bold enough to say that. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. I understand why my sister became upset—anyone would have. I genuinely believe she was disrespected and discriminated against, and no customer should ever be treated that way.
