Drew identified the critters, explained what needed to be done, and was very professional. We've been customers since 2021 and highly recommend this pest control company - and Drew's service. C. & J. Myers
Being from up north and only in Florida a couple of years , I've learned Florida lawns are a whole different world! In trying to ramp up my curb appeal, I had a landscaper put down some new sod in the middle of summer (which i have since learned is a big No-No in central florida) . When it started to struggle I had a neighbor recommended Best Pest. Best decision ever. They really know their stuff and genuinely care about helping their customers! Since switching to best pest, My lawn is recovering and looking better than ever. I'm so glad I found a company that not only does great work but also takes the time to educate you along the way, highly recommend!
We signed with the service to provide us with a”personalized” lawn service and not a cookie cutter one as advertised. They advertised that they will check and address the specific needs of the lawn. However, after 6 months, we did not see the lush green growth you would expect in spring and early summer months. They keep telling us we need to water more despite lawn showing evidence of too much moisture(excessive broad leaf growth). We live on a lake and the soil is very moist and mucky. Eventually the soil got fungus and sod web worm damage. Finally after multiple calls to the office, the supervisor showed up and the first thing he checked was the water meter, and made a quick diagnosis that “I see the problem, you are not watering enough”! He did not check the soil! If he did, he would recover muck! These are supposed to be lawn experts.Unfortunately we could not have a logical conversation and thus terminated the contract.
**UPDATED**Since Justin left the company, our yard has gotten bad and the service from the management is terrible. So disappointed!**I can not express how incredibly grateful we are to Best Pest Lawn and Justin, our technician, and his manager, Angel with the service, knowledge, professionalism, care, experience, follow through, expertise, friendliness, dependability and impeccable service they have provided us since hiring Best Pest Control in serving our lawn just 5 months ago. They completely repaired & restored our lawn!We live on a lake and have a huge lawn, which presents unique issues, but when we moved in several years ago, our lawn was perfect. We hired Heron to maintain our lawn, who managed to completely destroy it in 1 year. We were devastated! We then hired TruGreen to come take over, who 'guaranteed' they could restore our yard and fix all the issues. That was a HUGE mistake.Never the same technician. Didn't look at the notes from the previous person. Always applied the same, generic spray/chemical. Didn't actually work at fixing the issues, just randomly sent people (who never showed up as scheduled), to apply whatever was on their truck, with ZERO experience or knowledge of our lawn or even situation. It was awful. I was CONSTANTLY on the phone with their office, acting as a manager. It was incredibly stressful and a complete waste of our time and money. They made our already stressed, destroyed, ugly yard look 10x worse. Weeds everywhere, patches, crab grass, you name it. It was absolutely atrocious! It was so bad, that the service manager offered to pay for palettes of new grass to try and fix the damage that they had done. We basically paid them to destroy our yard.We finally said refund our money for all the damage they did to our yard, which they knew was beyond repair, we're done! After asking local residents, who swore that a local fertilizer place off S. Orange where you buy your own supplies and they tell you what you need, saves you money and you do it yourself. We tried that and it was horrible! Not only was that 3x as expensive in product each month, but there's no way a guy sitting behind a counter that never sees your yard in person can accurately tell you how to specifically treat a problem yard, such as ours.We tried this for 5 months and wrote down in detail, bought and applied, everything they told us to do. Our yard got worse, not to mention all the time it took us to do it ourselves. So finally after a TON of research and MANY personal, positive recommendations from home owners with experiences and yards just like ours, we decided on hiring Best Pest to help us.A consultant came out and spent a lot of time with us going over our yard. I was very direct and explicit with our needs, past experiences and expectations. I did not sugar coat what we expected, our past history with other vendors, and the huge weight on their shoulders to transform our yard.He did not over sell or promise, and did not come across as a pushy sales person. What I really like is that Best Pest is a smaller, locally owned company, which gives you personalized service, and they really care about their customers and their satisfaction. They truly treat each lawn uniquely and specifically with their individual needs. In just 5 months, Justin has completely restored our lawn back to its original, pristine, perfect state! He has done what no other big boxed company, which, BTW, costed almost double a month, could not do.Each time he is scheduled to come out, I get notified in advance, he ALWAYS shows up on that day; same technician, always lets me know he arrives; specifically treats the lawn with its unique needs, each time; and doesn't just spray from a truck the same product, every time. And, on top of that, his service manager, Angel also comes by to look over our lawn every other month as well and is very nice, professional and so conscientious of our lawn and their service.I can not recommend this company enough and what a great team they have.
I had my front yard re-sodded with Pro Vista St Augustine in Feb 2023. Shortly after the sod was laid, I contacted Best Pest to manage my lawn care. After the fourth visit, which was in late July, my lawn began to look sickly, so I called Best Pest many times to have them assess the condition. During this time, the technician came out twice and put treatments to my lawn that simply made matters worse. By this time, I had anticipated that a supervisor would at the very least arrive to check what was happening, but that never happened. When I called the company one more time before terminating them, I was informed that a supervisor would be stopping by after the Labor Day holiday but he ended up not showing up. At this point, I terminated their services and hired a new company. Best Pest made several incorrect diagnosis and their neglect to address the weeds and fungus in my lawn almost killed it. Additionally, I think that grass maintenance should be done every month rather than bimonthly. My grass is already looking better since the new business was chosen, but critically, the harm has already been done, and I must now pay a company to restore my lawn to a healthy state. The picture with my house in the background was taken after (2) lawn treatments. 2 stars was a generous review!
