I had an inspector come over for a free attic inspection and he recommended a rodent exclusion for $1500. At the time I asked if the guys were going to be able to Go through my attic since it’s really tight up there and he said yes. When the guys showed up for service only my living room and my dining room were serviced the rest of the house which includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen could not get service because of tight it is up there and I was still charged full price. I called the office after the service was done and they sent out another guy to double check what it was saying And confirmed I was right. Long story short, they were not honest with me from the beginning. What I was told and what was actually done did not match. Overall, very disappointed with them.
Edit: After posting my review, I was contacted by a customer advocacy representative and we came to a mutual solution.I’m changing my stars from 1 to 3 because of the resolution. They did NOT demand editing the review as a condition of the resolution. I am doing this because ultimately they corrected their mistake and that deserves credit as well.I am leaving the original review so those reading can understand how truly frustrated I was.End edit:I used Alta for 2-3 years and had no issues with the service UNTIL I sold my house and tried to call and cancel the service. They told me that I would have to pay the remaining months of service to close out the account.To me, that is absolutely an unacceptable policy. It’s enough of a pain just to sell a home and then having to haggle with the pest control company so they can squeeze every last cent from you is atrocious customer service - and I work in customer service so it takes a lot for me to get as upset as I am now.I told the agent on the phone that they can just continue charging me monthly and not go to do the service since I no longer own the home and they said since no services are being rendered that they would need to close account, bill me in full, and if it wasn’t paid in 30 days they’d send me to collections. I have NEVER EVER felt as disrespected in my life by a customer service agent as this person made me feel. As someone in customer service, this agent needs remedial training in de-escalation techniques yesterday.I will never recommend this company to anyone in the future. All they want is your money. If I could give 0 stars, I would.Be forewarned, if you sell your home, this company will still charge you for all your services even though you don’t own the home. What a terrible policy to enforce.
~Update from 1 star to 3 stars: They did promptly reach out from the customer advocacy department. The person I spoke with was very empathetic and they did mention that they were going to void the charge to my account. They also were going to inform their team on best practices in regard to military moves for account closures. As it’s their policy to close accounts without penalty for military moves, with proper documentation. I appreciate that they do read these reviews and take customer feedback seriously. End of update~MILITARY MEMBERS AND THOSE CONSIDERING MILITARY SERVICE:We do not recommend this pest control service. At the time, the door salesman had made vague promises of no cancellation fees and could cancel anytime.Our mistake was not thoroughly reading everything on his tiny iPad that he swiped through quickly.We were charged for a “discount” they gave us, demanding that we pay it back because we have to cancel the service as my husband is joining the military and we have to move out of our company owned house. We only had two services left on our contract, but they still wanted their “discount” back. The first person I spoke with, told us that since the salesmen never wrote a note about it in their system, they won’t honor it.It’s unfortunate that this is how they conduct business.
