November 2020, we used Valley Termite & Pest Control, Staunton, for a termite treatment of the house we were purchasing. The price for the service included, in writing, a one-year guaranty including a free inspection at our request (and treatment of the affected area, if needed) within the first year AT NO CHARGE. We even got a reminder letter in January to make that free inspection appointment before the year expired.When we called to make our appointment, we were told that they were under new management and would not honor our guaranty—and the visit would cost us $109.25 or their technician would not come out even for the inspection, not to mention any required treatment. We asked to talk with a manager, but even that was denied. We were only able to speak with the women who make the appointments and they were unclear what the policy was since they were new and the management had changed. However, they were the ones who delivered the final decision not to honor the guaranty after our third call to them.The fact that the new management wouldn't even call us back to discuss or explain, tells you what type of business ethics these people have. We have a clearly written guaranty, a reminder letter of that guaranty, and the new owners won't even talk to their customer.
My apartment had a flea infestation. They seemed in no rush to even inspect my apartment and when they did it was a hefty price. They then scheduled the treatment a week later, once again, no rush to treat my home. And then the day they came to treat, they were 3 hours early. I still had my kitten in the apartment and was not ready for them because we were not scheduled for another three hours. They said they couldn’t come at my scheduled time and would have to reschedule for another day. I called the company and the phone receptionist was very rude and left me on hold for a very long time. She was not helpful at all. the price for the treatment is also ridiculously high. I will never use this Pest control service again and will be speaking with my apartment manager to let them know of Valley and American pests’ poor service. You would think a pest control service would be eager to help you free your home from bugs but no.

$190 treatment was ineffective so they wanted $40 extra to come back...why, to use the good stuff this time? Bought Raid instead and no more spiders. ??

They are very thorough in their inspections and treatments.I highly recommend Valley Termite and Pest Control based on their initial treatment and follow-up service call.I selected Valley Termite and Pest Control to complete a termite treatment for a circa 1890's Historic Chapel approved for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.10 months later, I'm confident I made the right choice.The crawlspace areas in this historic Chapel Property are very tight and difficult to access. Valley Termite and Pest Control took the extra time and effort to go into all these spaces to inspect and treat.The Base of the Bell Tower however was not accessible when the termite treatment was initially completed ten months ago. This week, when we replaced the flooring in the Bell Tower, Valley Termite and Pest Control made a special trip to Harrisonburg to treat the Bell Tower... at No Charge.Todd, Margaret, and all the Pest Control Techs who came out to service the Mabel Memorial Chapel were so very polite and professional. I was very positively impressed. I am very pleased with the work Valley Termite and Pest Control completed for us.
