Reviews

What customers say

Customers praised clear explanations and knowledgeable staff; one customer said a home inspection ended with a bill of approval. One mouse-program account described nearly a month of unanswered follow-up requests and bait stations left unchecked past the technician’s expected return, while a customer who praised Sarah’s office support said Orkin would not treat after its detection dog reportedly found nothing despite the household’s pest sightings.

Customer service was outstanding—Sarah in the office was wonderful, responding to emails lightning-fast and answering every question thoroughly. That said, I'm not convinced we don't have pests, as my partner and I have personally seen them. Orkin brought in their detection dog, who reportedly found nothing, $250 + gst waisted, but this didn't reassure me as we've seen the pests and without visible proof, Orkin won't treat. I'll be seeking a second opinion from another company as my small children, my partner and I all have signs.

Extremely disappointed in the customer service of Orkin. For nearly a month I have been leaving messages with their call center and voicemails at the local Winnipeg number to book a follow-up appointment for the mouse program that I have purchased. No one seems to return calls and the 24-7 hours is a joke. It is a call service where they take all of your information and tell you someone will call back... But they don't. I have several bait stations set up at my house that haven't been checked for over 4 weeks when the tech instructed that he wanted to come back in 2. The techs that came to my residence were friendly and seemingly knowledgeable about my mouse problems. However for $450+tax the amount of consultation and inspection done for entry points and exclusion is pretty minimal and basic.

She was patient with us. Cats kept sneaking back in the house, had to keep rounding them up. Normally they like going outside but it was raining. So patience is her virtue along with friendly & professional

I contacted the four pest control firms that were recommended by a University of Manitoba entomologist. I chose Orkin because the initial person I spoke to was very knowledgeable and confident, they use a biological agent, steam if required and have a bed bug detecting dog available. I met Brittany a month ago and today she inspected and gave my house a bill of approval. And I can call back if we happen to find any in the next few weeks.

Orkin was very good. They responded to my issue in a timely manner and Brittney was amazing. Everything was explained in detail and we knew what the procedure would entail.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does Orkin visit under its annual home plan?

Visits are scheduled around the homeowner’s availability; frequency depends on location and pest pressures.

Do homeowners need to leave during Orkin pest treatment?

It depends on the treatment: baiting does not require leaving, while spraying can require staying away for four to eight hours, depending on label specifications, or until the spray is dry.

When does Orkin use liquid treatments for rodents?

Liquid treatments are a last resort, used only if needed. For outdoor rat and mouse populations, Orkin may use anchored, locked, tamper-resistant bait stations that are monitored and serviced regularly.
