Reviews

What customers say

Customers praise quick, professional service; one customer credits Matt with after-hours help on a burst pipe. A water-heater customer said the earliest appointment offered after a Friday call was the following Friday, while a garage-heater customer said a second inspection failed and the garage remained unheated.

I just want to give a shout out to Matt at Mountain Mechanical. This company is one of the few left that does after hours. I called 6 different plumbers and Mountain Mechanical was the only one who had a plumber that was willing to come out and help us with a burst pipe. Matt did an amazing job and we are so grateful to him. He was nice, fast, and willing to help after hours. Thank you.

My 3 year old water heater failed due to a manufacturer defect. Mountain Mechanical had installed the unit. When I called on a Friday to see if someone could come and look at it, I was told that the earliest they could have someone out was next Friday. They had inspected the water heater 3 months earlier in September, assuring me all was well. I called another company and they had my water heater replaced under warranty on Tuesday. I am extremely disappointed that having been a loyal customer for over 5 years, no interest was shown in helping me. I will not be using their services going forward.

Mountain Mechanical is truly the very best at what they do in Anchorage. Prompt, courteous, professional, fairly priced, and experienced. We were thrilled with the service we received today from Quintin, as he fixed our problem quickly, and saved us a bunch of time, money, and grief, simply by being honest and professional. I would recommend Mountain Mechanical, and Quintin, to anyone.

We contracted Mountain Mechanical to install a gas line to our detached garage and install a garage heater on August 28, 2025 for $7,500. We were required to pay half of the balance up front and the remainder at completion, when the garage heater was connected and operating. Mountain Mechanical completed the initial install on September 10th and assured us that once the municipal inspector signed off on the job, they would complete the connection to the garage heater. We were required to pay the balance due, since Mountain Mechanical assured us they would complete the job after the inspection. The municipal inspector failed the job and Mountain Mechanical did NOT address the failure for 6 weeks, because "they got busy". We were out of town during this time period, however, there was a house sitter to provide access to the garage whenever requested. Mountain Mechanical took advantage of the fact that we were out of town and pushed our job down on their priority list, because they were paid in full. When we returned we contacted Mountain Mechanical to address the leak found by the municipal inspector in September. The second inspection also failed. It is now November 5th and we still do not have a heated garage. Plants and belongings in the garage are now subjected to temperatures below freezing. We do NOT recommend Mountain Mechanical for any work other than an routine inspection.

I’m so happy with mountain mechanical - Russell came over to the house and did a review and said he’s not charging just for a diagnostic and came days later and worked 8 AM to 3 PM installing a new boiler and water heater. 5 star company - quick, professional and respectful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mountain Mechanical provide emergency plumbing after hours?

Yes. Emergency plumbing is available 24 hours a day.

Does Mountain Mechanical's repair warranty cover another part that fails later?

The warranty applies only to the part originally repaired. If a technician recommends multiple repairs and only some are completed, the company says it cannot guarantee the system will not fail again.

Does Mountain Mechanical guarantee customer-provided parts?

No. Mountain Mechanical says it does not guarantee or provide plumbing or heating warranties for parts it did not supply.

What happens to equipment coverage after the first year?

After the first year, coverage follows the applicable manufacturer's warranty; most cover parts but not labor. Many manufacturers require registration within 90 days of installation and yearly service to keep coverage active.
