I am thoroughly satisfied with the work from Bedell! The serviceman (Art), just left my home after installing a new kitchen faucet. He was friendly and professional. He made sure I understood every step of the process and cleaned up after himself. Thank you very much for a job well done. ??
Initially called Bedell on 5/3/24 when pilot light of water heater went out and would not reignite. Plumbers were able to come out same day and replaced gas control valve and burner unit to eventually be able to re-light pilot. After repair, I noticed gas smell in home after returning from a weekend trip. Given timing after water heater repair, assumed this was most likely cause, but called Citizens to check for gas leak. Ultimately, Citizens discovered multiple gas leaks in home and shut off gas supply until repair.I had Bedell come back out to evaluate gas leaks and spent almost $4000 to re-pipe gas lines in home. Overall, Bedell did a great job with this. However, after work complete, Citizens still reported gas leak, specifically at water heater. This led to several calls/return visits from Bedell over the course of 3 weeks. They couldn’t identify where leak was coming from, but upon turning on gas at water heater, my entire house would smell like gas within a few hours, and I experienced headaches.Eventually, it seemed like staff with Bedell were fed up with me. On 5/22/24, I was told that they have “thoroughly checked water heater and determined that there isn’t a leak,” and that “it is normal for there to be a slight gas smell near water heater when it turns on.” They offered to send someone out the following week, which I scheduled, but at this point, it felt like they were no longer taking the gas smell seriously. I decided to call a second plumbing company for an opinion. They were able to come to my home 5/23/24 and determined that the gas valve controller that had been replaced earlier in month was faulty. Rather than deal with the condescending attitude from Thomas at Bedell again, I elected to pay even more money for this company to replace the gas valve controller. This seems to have solved the gas smell issue.I suppose that I am glad that gas valve control replacement was faulty, because it led to discovery of other potentially dangerous gas leaks in home, and I feel that Bedell did a good job with repairing these. However, I felt very disrespected by office staff when I had to call multiple times to report that gas leak smell did not resolve, especially since Citizens had confirmed that a gas leak was still present after work completed. I personally hate talking on the phone and would not have called this many times just for fun. I feel like my concerns likely would have been taken more seriously if I were a man. Likely a fine company for straightforward issues and the plumbers themselves seemed wonderful, but office staff became increasingly more difficult to work with and condescending when issue was not resolved. I will not use Bedell for future plumbing or home needs.
I recently used Bedell to replace a leaking shutoff valve. The technician, I believe his name was Alex, was not only friendly but also incredibly informative. He walked me through what he was going to do and completed the work efficiently and effectively. I can't recommend Bedell Home Services highly enough! From the moment I reached out, their responsiveness was impressive. Communication was excellent throughout, and they were able to schedule an appointment that suited my tight schedule. The best part? The price was fair and reasonable. I'll definitely be calling Bedell Home Services for any future plumbing needs.
We have used Bedell plumbing services for years. They have always been very timely and professional and the work is always excellent. Recently, we had a major issue with our rental property. Bedell responded quickly and offered two assessments from two of their plumbers before proceeding. Rachel was great! She explained the issue and how it could be repaired and laid out what we should expect. Thomas was always quick to return calls regarding the project as well. Great customer service.
David is amazing. He came out on 2 separate occasions. The first time he came out and checked our washer/dryer spigots because we had a leak. He gave us some helpful tips and advised that these things just wear out over time. He then gave us two options : (1) replace the spigots for shiny new ones or (2) replace the entire box area and have a cosmetic lift. We chose the first because who needs a cosmetic lift behind the washer ? Not us. He said no too. We appreciate his candor. Secondly, he came out today and gave this girl all the education on turning the water supply on and off in and outside the house with more than 1 location. I asked for a drawing and I may have caused him to lose his faith in working-class-female-non-plumbers so I made sure to write it down verbatim for future use. I am a smart person and I can learn hard things. David, you are the bomb diggity.
