In my opinion, homeowners should consider looking elsewhere for residential plumbing repairs. My experience with Purpose Plumbing resulted in charges that amounted to roughly $860 per hour for a 5-hour repair to a single 2-foot pipe. The total bill was almost $4,400, not including the additional $2,000 for a separate contractor to repair two large access holes left in my walls — one upstairs, one downstairs.I repeatedly asked Purpose Plumbing for any explanation of the charges and an itemized invoice that would justify the cost. The only response I received was: “We charge for the job, not by the hour.” Ihave yet to see an itemized invoice. Management also declined multiple offers to visit the home to review the work or explain the pricing. To be fair, the pipe repair itself appears to be done correctly. However, given the lack of transparency, the substantial access damage left behind, and what I personally consider extremely excessive pricing, I would not use this company again.
I would not recommend Purpose Plumbing to anyone. The first appointment they never showed up and when they did, the work was sloppy at best and way overpriced. We had to call them back to finish the work they started (see attached pictures).
So these guys showed up late two different times, then got mad at me for not being home 2 hours after their window. Then when we finally scheduled a time, they show up 20 minutes early when I'm on a work call. The have a 3 hour window- mind you. Then they quote me 35% higher than any of the other quotes I got, and when I said I think I'll go a different direction, they forced me to pay a 50 dollar service fee (knowing they were coming to quote a job.) They should have been upfront about that on the phone. Worst part was the technitian just had me venmo him.... So skethy. I feel like an absolute sucker for dealing with purpose plumbing. STAY AWAY. absolutely horrible business.
Had them come to take a look at our shower. The plumber never listened to us describe the problem or bother attempting any troubleshooting. They charged us around $400 for a part we didn’t need, installed it improperly, and left without fixing the issue. I had to get involved and fix the issues that they caused on my own and still don’t have a functioning shower.
I had made an appointment to have my tankless water heater descaled. It's a yearly maintenance. Boy am I glad I called back to find out how much it was going to cost! Last year it was $250 which is a little high but I could swing it. This year it's $400!! I cancelled the appointment. I can get the same service for $150. The chemicals cost $30 on Amazon & takes an hour to do. Certainly not worth $400! Eventhough they do good work, they're outpricing themselves in the plumbing field.
