Company had to come 2 times to fix the same problem (within one month). Not only did they not give a good-faith discount for the 2nd appointment, they charged twice the price. The technician (David) himself was fantastic, but this company is only concerned with moving your money into their pocket.
I don’t often find myself moved by plumbing, yet there was something quietly heartening about Tristan Gobert of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing here in Charlotte. He arrived precisely when he said he would, a small miracle in itself, and before crossing my threshold slipped protective booties over his shoes with a courtesy that felt almost old-fashioned.He replaced my kitchen faucet with an attentiveness that suggested the task was not merely mechanical but personal. When he finished, he lingered long enough to guide me through its workings, as though initiating me into a modest domestic rite. He walked me out to the garage to show me the water shutoff—knowledge both practical and faintly reassuring—and even tested the water for chlorine, an unexpected gesture that felt like concern rather than obligation. In an era when service can feel hurried or transactional, Tristan embodied a steadier, more conscientious standard. If he is representative of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, then the company is fortunate indeed. I recommend them without hesitation—for their skill, their civility, and the rare comfort of feeling one’s home has been treated with respect
Since I've received 2 auto texts every day since the job was complete here's what I think. Hire someone else. My technician hit something on my exterior wall preventing the screw from going in all the way and just left it buckling my siding. He had to return to redo the gas lines that were incorrectly "secured" to the outside of my house putting extra screw holes in my siding. The county gas tech had to explain how to secure it so it could be hooked up to the gas meter. In the water tank closet he left a piece of drywall that was trash for me to clean up along with drywall dust from plugging the old lines. None of this should've happened considering the high cost they charge to hire them.
Outstanding service from start to finish! We reached out to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing on Saturday night and spoke with Heather at the call center. She was an absolute wealth of knowledge and took the time to clearly explain their service membership program and options. Hands down, she’s one of the best customer service reps we’ve dealt with from any contractor in the area — knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. They sent Nathan Brown out on Sunday to provide a quote, and by Tuesday morning, Oscar Mendoza was already on-site replacing our gas hot water heater along with Caleb Griffith. The entire process was smooth, professional, and efficient.Oscar did a great job. Very professional and answered all of my questions. From that first phone call to the final installation, everything was handled flawlessly. We couldn’t be happier with the service and will absolutely use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing again — and recommend them without hesitation.
We had a big problem happen where one technician did our estimate, and a different tech came to do the install. The tech doing the install did not understand what the estimate/work was going to be covering and thus we ended up extremely unhappy with his work. However Mike England, the tech that did our estimate, was in touch next-day and explained that the work was indeed not as it was supposed to be and informed me that he had already started the process to have a new tech, Will Elliot, come out to fix our situation. Will fixed everything and explained what it was he had done. He was very professional and did an awesome job. Mike also has been extremely professional throughout this experience and has worked hard to make sure that our situation was fixed and that we were happy with the work. I’ll include a picture of what it ended up looking like and while it is unorthodox, it is functional and makes my life easier in the event of a leak because I will no longer have to take the wall apart to reach the shutoffs.I am only giving a 4-star because of the problems that came up but as for Mike and Will they are 5-star, grade-A technicians.
