Recent reviews frequently highlight clear communication, with technicians explaining options and costs before work. Many customers note punctual arrivals and efficient installations, including water heaters and fixtures. Clean work areas and courteous behavior are commonly mentioned. A smaller number of reviews cite concerns about pricing on brief service calls.
Gavin was bery patient and respectful. Good guy, explained the costs, options, and even got us installed same day. Dan and Evan came out, did a great job installing the new furnace, explained the new thermostat and made sure to tidy up their work space when done. Absolutely recommend these guys.
This company is extremely poorly managed and steal from their customers. I was sold some sort of fire system package for $1,140. In total the work was 3 hours, for four smoke alarms to be connected (three of the four already had pulls, the fourth was pulled 8 feet from one of the existing pulls - suggested by them as code - which it is not), connected three light switches and to move one outlet into the wall (about a foot away for an unfinished wall). They used all my material outside of one 8 foot wire and a few face covers for the switches. After the invoice arrived I was appalled that I was sold some sort of "silver EB2C Main Safety First fire detection system renovation" which includes: Hazardous vapor detection system, advance fire/ smoke detection system, install fast action extinguisher, performance and safety testing, and 1 year limited warranty. When I called to discuss with a decision maker (owner or manager at least) they directed me to the tech that installed it (not his fault its the companies process to upcharge people). When I called back they refused to let me speak to anyone who could actually explain to me why I was upsold on some silver package vs an itemized service. This at most should have been $500 and shame on me for agreeing to the pressure when contractor was onsite. However to not discuss this type of behavior with the customer after the fact because they already have my money is a terrible way to do business. Absolute criminals, do not allow these people into your homes. With that said, Dan and Andrea were great. They should start their own company and charge people the honest rate vs some fire protection service package.
I installed a moen sprayer, but the connection to the fastener didn't fit. Sprayed with wd40 then called Vander Hyde. I was informed there would be a $99 service call. Gary and his helper arrived, I explained my problem. Gary attempted to connect several times to fastener. Finally a piece of plastic came out of the fastener and it connected. No tools were needed and I cleaned up afterwards . Then I was informed that the bill was $380. All that took 10 minutes . I tried to talk with management but no luck. Where is the common sense?
Gary was very thorough investigating our water heater issue of not staying on. He explained all options and prices along with pros and cons without trying to upsell. Bryan and Kyle returned two weeks later (worked for our schedule) and completed our installation of the water heater. They were very efficient and professional. I was pleased with their communication.
We had a great experience with VanderHyde. We called late Friday afternoon and were scheduled right away for Monday morning, which we really appreciated. Bryson was our technician and he was punctual, professional, and very kind. He took the time to explain everything clearly and completed the service efficiently. We would gladly recommend VanderHyde and Bryson to others.
