Horrible Service – Do Not Recommend{The company responded to my review claiming it was a different company. However, City Plumbing sent this plumber—who represents another company—and acted as a middleman, charging me twice the cost. Therefore, City Plumbing is 100% responsible for sending an unprofessional plumber who damaged my basement.}This company is extremely unprofessional. Be aware that they act as a middleman, subcontracting other plumbing companies and charging double. This was confirmed by the plumber who showed up.The plumber was from ASSFAR Home Services LLC (Haledon, NJ). His name is Yosef. As soon as he entered my apartment and inserted a drain snake, he immediately stated the price would be $400—before doing any real diagnosis. He attempted to unclog the pipe but failed. The snake would not go more than about 10 feet. He then went to the basement, disconnected the pipes, returned upstairs, and ran the water for about 30 minutes. When we went back to the basement, it was flooded. When confronted, he apologized and claimed it would dry in five minutes, which was completely false. The issue was with the kitchen sink, yet he ran water in the bathroom sink and tub, which made no sense. He then called his boss, speaking in Arabic, and did not mention that he flooded my basement. When I told his boss what happened, the plumber became angry. The explanations kept changing: first they said the pipe was frozen, then that it was broken—with no camera inspection to support either claim. They then suggested opening walls and floors, which felt like an attempt to charge even more money. When I asked why a camera wasn’t used, I was told it “doesn’t fit,” which is not believable. To make matters worse, the plumber accused me of disconnecting the pipes and lying about the flooding on the phone to his “boss”. They also told me not to bother calling their insurance. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, honesty, and accountability. I would not trust this company in any property, especially if you care about your home.
Kyle setup an appointment with me to come out and locate a sewer main break. He told me to Zelle him 527.79 and he would mark it out and scope it to confirm the break. He then told me he did camera the line but he wanted another $395 plus tax to locate the break when I already had a conversation with him that I knew there was a break in the line but just needed it located and that was the main reason I needed them to come out. Absolute scam artists avoid using them if you don’t want a headache. Good luck.
These guys were lifesavers! We had a guest clog the toilet, called for help at 9:20am as a new client. By 10:32am, the technician had arrived and fixed the problem. Truly amazing, especially when you know how messy and smelly plumbing emergencies can be. Came with a $30 guarantee and cost $250 plus tax. We will be saving their number for the future!
Responsive and quick. Did a sewer scope and cleaned up the pipes to prevent any clogs. Fair price.
Not recommended. The technician broke the shutoff valve while fixing our bathroom sink.We had called about a small leak. The tech came to assess and said we needed a whole new faucet. We agreed and he installed a new one. While doing it, he broke the shutoff valve. He did not try to fix it; after charging us $450 for a new faucet, he simply just left. When we called the company again for support on replacement valve, they said they would need to charge for the replacement. Charge us for something their own technician broke.Great business model, old as time. Make something worse, and then charge customer to fix.I **think** the team leans on a task rabbit type of hiring. So luck of the draw on the technician. This is a guess, as when we first called the company to complain they said "we don't have record of sending anyone." We had to send a picture of the receipt from the tech as proof. Even after this, they did not take any responsibility for the poor work of the tech they sent.
