American Air and Heat was an Oviedo Florida based HVAC company 1995 to 2023. In 2023 ownership was transferred to a Delaware LLC whose owners live in MARYLAND. Now I understand how this previously reputable, dependable company became the company who, in my opinion, is the absolute worst HVAC Service Company in existence in our area. Here is a description of my recent experience with American Air and Heat:1. My 3 year old $12,000 A/C stopped working on Thursday night.2. American Air advertises 24/7 service. Rosie, their AI, answered at 11 pm.I was quite impressed. She located my records, booked next day service call for 8 am to 8 pm and said she would confirm by email.3. 10 am next day - no email. Company says "Oooops, so sorry…. Rosie never made appointment". I could have sat in my overheated house for 12 hours ….. waiting and no one would have shown up.4. Tech came at 8 pm and worked in the dark.5. leak in the evaporator coil, and coil froze.6. added two pounds of refrigerant, ordered part and set up repair with parts and labor covered by warranty. I felt pretty good about this.7. Next day, two repair people. Sky black with clouds. They open up all sections of the A/C even those that can't be exposed to rain.8. I get tarp and magnets and cover sections that can’t get wet. “Wow, that is a great idea!!!!”, says senior repair person. We should have a tarp and magnets in the truck." Duh!!!!!!!! I knew in that moment that I was in trouble. Rain came in torrents9. Next step – use acetylene torch. Assistant holds coil with a wrench while other guy uses torch to pull the pieces apart. No protective face gear or gloves with assistant’s face is a mere 15 inches from the torch flames.10. I asked them to clean out the drain pan, like on a maintenance call. No, they only do the repair. They sat brand new evaporator coil into the dirty drain pan.11. drain pan was filled with oil residue from the refrigerant leak and should have been cleaned. they just could not be bothered.12. They also• Placed float switch in backwards• Overcharged refrigerant- liquid psi was at 445, almost 100 psi over recommended level, straining compressor• Delta T set at 14 degrees - s/b 19-20 degrees.• They left with the capacitor running low AT 41.4 when minimum is 42. Maintenance company replaced it at cost without a labor charge.• Left the super heat at 5.6 degrees when it should be 15 degrees• Left the subcool at 33 degrees when it should be 10 degreesThey did email me pictures of all the readings completed with their hand held meters. It simply is not possible that in two days, all their readings could be wrong and out of range unless there is something wrong with their old outdated reading equipment.13. So now I have one company here at the house telling me that the work performed two days earlier needs correction. And I simply don’t know what to do or who to believe. So I call… American Air and Heat and describe the situation and ask to speak to a manager. “Sorry, there aren’t any managers working today. I can take your name and number and have them call you back. The call back can take up to four days.”14. Since the repair was covered under the warranty, I didn't have to pay. But I was told that the labor cost was $2000. I didn't want to take the chance of American Air's work creating additional damage to my A/C, so I had the maintenance A/C guy, make the necessary adjustments.I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AMERICAN AIR AND HEAT AGAIN. THEY ARE NOT A LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS EVEN THOUGH THEY TRY TO PRETEND THAT THEY ARE..... PIGGY-BACKING OFF THE FORMER OWNERS GOOD NAME. THIS SERVICE CALL IS JUST ONE SCENARIO. EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, FROM PURCHASE TO INSTALL TO MAINTENANCE TO PREVIOUS SERVICE CALLS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I URGE EVERYONE TO STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN.
Francisco was absolutely amazing. He was extremely patient with us and took the time to clearly explain each water heater option and how they work. You could genuinely tell he wasn’t just trying to make a sale — he truly wanted us to make the best decision for our home and our family. He guided us through the entire process, answered all of our questions, and made sure we understood everything before moving forward. Once we decided, he installed our new water heater in record time and made the whole experience smooth and stress-free.It’s rare to find someone who is both knowledgeable and so customer-focused. We are very grateful for his help and highly recommend Francisco to anyone needing water heater service or installation.
Chris came to our house and did a thorough evaluation of our system. He did an outstanding job of educating us on our option and worked with us so come to a solution. Brendon and Ishaq did a fantastic job of remove old system and installing new system. Everything was cleaned and Brendon explained system operation.
Eric was wonderful. He was thorough and gave us great advice as to what we needed to do regarding a Freon leak with our A/C unit. He immediately got us an appointment with their cost estimate department. We appreciate all that he did. I highly recommend this company.
They removed the old system and installed the new system. Cleaned up when finished. Fantastic job start to finish. Fabian and shak make a great team They work well together. Exceeded my expectations. Well done.
