Miles Peterson came this morning. He did an inspection on my heat pump/ac, water heater, installed a new wall thermostat, and he even lit the pilot light for me on my gas log fireplace. Chad replaced the motor on my split AC to avoid a complete system replacement. Main office support was able to find a motor that fit my system which in put of production. Chad was prompt, professional, and completed the repair. They explained ahead of time that drywall would have to be cut for access, and provided a contact for repair.

I hired S&S Mechanical to install a Kohler 26 KW Generator at our house in Nevada as they were about the only certified Kohler Dealer within a 50 mile radius of our same retirement community. From day one, I regret that choice. As a retired Electrical/ Instrumentation Technician, I am rather particular about what kind of equipment I have installed around my house. Kohler’s Generator / Automatic transfer switch (ATS) is a smart system that can be monitored remotely, which is important to me. The Electrical Contractor I hired requested a substitute panel which degraded the communication ability of the system and S&S Mechanical sourced the older panel without discussing with me what the repercussions were. That issue was resolved by installing the original, proper transfer switch after the fact.
After the Generator was set on its pad, S&S Mechanical sent out an Apprentice Plumber, who had never worked with Poly tubing before to connect the Generator to my propane system. (500 gal. tank, feeding 9 separate loads). Having not worked with Poly before, he didn’t understand the importance of cleaning and deburring cuts made into the line. Needless to say, the line leaked once we opened the tank valve. He had arrived onsite with only 1 Poly tee. He walked away to make a phone call and when I went looking for him, he had drove away. I called S&S Mechanical the next morning to find out what the plan forward was. I was told that the Apprentice Plumber had told me that he would be out the next day, which that conversation never took place. He did show back up the next day with a new tee and deburring tool and was able to repair the line with no leaks after the system was pressured back up.
Then the Gentleman that they sent to configure / startup the generator was very nice; however, he had his nose in a manual on every single step he made. That didn’t inspire any confidence in his experience to me.
Several weeks ago, I called S&S Mechanical to schedule the first yearly maintenance on my Generator and was given a date several weeks out, which was fine. Yesterday when their technician didn’t show up for the schedule appointment, I called S&S Mechanical asking why he didn’t show up. I was told that the Tune-up kit (Air Filter/Oil Filter, Plugs) had not arrived at their business yet, and that S&S had left a voicemail on my cell phone letting me know of the delay. I checked my phone and there was no voice mail, no missed call from S&S, so they were outright dishonest to me. I then looked online for a Tune-up kit for my specific Generator, and I could have a kit delivered to my house within 4 days, so someone dropped the ball on ordering as well.
I have found another company to service my Generator in the future and I would NOT recommend S&S Mechanical to anyone.

Very timely installation of a new system when ours had failed. Logan presented the options with no pressure. Everybody was polite and very helpful. Installation (Riley and his #2) guys were careful not to interfere with our quaint little lives and yet provided great service. Brad was our initial contact from last year and offered us several options answering all our questions.
