I wish there was a zero star option! This company tried to rip me off in multiple ways. I hired them two years ago to do a backflow preventer inspection and rebuild after my backflow preventer started leaking. They came out “repaired” my preventer, filed the inspection with the city. Thought it was a good outcome. Until I got a notice from the city that the recurrent inspection was overdue. I don’t blame Hi Tech for not knowing the inspection was overdue, but a well run company would have a way of tracking that and notify me. I called Hi Tech out to reinspect my preventer. The technician came out and told me preventer was very old. They could possibly rebuild it but would t guarantee the results. The technician mentioned based on the age, the preventer could contain lead. And they recommended replacing it. 185.00 for the service call. 2500.00 for a new unit. Something felt off and I didn’t like the seeming pressure to replace the device. So I called another company. He came right out. He told me the preventers are made to rebuild. That mine was an industry standard unit. His price was 1/2 HiTech’s. He told me that lead hasn’t been used in household water systems in decades and to even mention lead was a scare tactic. When he disassembled the preventer it was missing a spring that he said would cause it to fail the inspection, so when it was rebuilt the time before it was set up to fail next time around. In addition the technician mentioned that he wasn’t even sure it was necessary, since my pool installation didn’t require it. I checked with the city and sure enough the Backflow Preventer wasn’t even required. They issued a letter authorizing me to have it removed. So you decide!
I initially left a 5-star review, expecting the remaining caulk work to be completed properly. Two American Standard Cadet Pro toilets were installed, and one required a flange replacement. The toilet now sits noticeably higher than the previous install and the flange was not fastened to the floor due to “risk,” which concerns me in a 1926 home. The toilet was rocking initially and I was told caulk would resolve it. I later requested shims for stability.During the return visit for completing toilet work, the technician pressed the pop-up drain in my bathroom sink and it broke. The drain had been sticky but functional, and I was not expecting work to be done on the sink. I was then quoted $366 to replace it, reduced to $266.I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told concerns must be submitted by email.I am simply looking for fair treatment and clear accountability.
High-Tech Plumbing sent one of their technicians, Edgar Peña and I couldn't be more pleased. He is a very knowledgeable and respectful young man who took the time to explain, step by step, what needed to be done. What was supposed to be a simple job turned into a couple of hours of work, but Edgar handled it professionally and thoroughly.I truly appreciated the care he showed for my home and living space — he was very neat, clean, and respectful throughout the entire job. I am extremely pleased with his work and grateful that High-Tech Plumbing sends out such knowledgeable and responsible workers.I would gladly recommend Edgar and High-Tech Plumbing to anyone looking for a reliable company to help in their home. Thank you for a great job.- Rosalinda
Extremely professional and highly skilled company. Andy is the best, hands down. His attention to detail and dedication to getting the job done to his standards is rare, especially when extra hours are required. He will not leave a job until it is completed 100% and then triple checked for quality assurance. After 2 other plumbing contractors fell short, Hi Tech finally took the job serious, and got it done.
Andy G. my technician was extremely professional. I had an emergency flooding from my water heater and this was the only company that could come out at 10pm. Andy helped by stopping my leak and had a new hot water heater installed first thing in the morning. He did everything I needed without hesitation. I would highly recommend this company.
