Reviews often mention solid outcomes on equipment replacements and project work, with positive notes on cleanliness and hauling away old parts. Some customers report clear scheduling and timely completion on upgrades. There are also critical reviews citing inconsistent weekly service quality and slow responses. Overall ratings skew positive but highlight a mix of experiences between project work and recurring maintenance.

Bradley Powles on The Pool Doctor

Just moved on from these guys after my pool had a progressively worse case of mustard algae. The pool tech would come for 5 mins, under-chlorinate the pool, go back to his truck for 10 minutes to fill out treatment slip, and leave. Twice he turned off the pool filter entirely because the tab feeder was leaking. The first time I caught it after a few days of the pool looking terrible and I went and got my own 0-ring. The office apologized and said someone must've missed it on the service slip. But then it happened again a few weeks later. (Note: There was *no* second leak; I turned everything on and it worked fine). A week later I told the office the pool looked terrible and that no one came yesterday for service. They told me to read my service agreement because they don't come on holidays. Well, I guess if your treatment day is on a monday (like mine was), you're really getting hosed since that's when most holidays are observed. I thought maybe they'd want to show some good customer service and come out in light of the recurrent service issue and pool condition. But nope! And so that was enough for me to move on.

TL;DR: One of the least responsive, least honest, least effective services I have ever encountered!

We bought a home with a pool, and the previous owners had been paying the Pool Doctor to service it. We took over the contract about 5 months ago. Since then, the Pool Doctor has:

1) Sent people weekly to open the gate, walk into the property, turn around, and leave. They did not realize we have cameras. They charged the previous owner for months of visits that lasted 30 seconds and did nothing. They left weekly slips claiming that they had done work they had not done.

2) Sent about 5 different technicians over the course of 5 months. Although the owner of the Pool Doctor knows about our pool's specific requirements, he didn't share them with the techs. There was one experienced tech who showed up briefly, but he wasn't informed about our specific pool so made errors.

3) Installed a floating chlorine dispenser without asking or informing us. They did not secure the floater as is recommended by the manufacturer. Floaters are not recommended for this type of pool. The floater got caught under the cover at the stairs and stained the steps.

4) Spent the last three months refusing to talk about how to repair the steps. They've said a) it wasn't their fault, b) ok, it was their fault but they would soon to fix it, c) not called for months, d) ignored repeated calls and emails, and e) refused multiple different suggestions for how to fix the problem.

I will update if they ever fix the bleached steps.

Tim Lautze on The Pool Doctor

I used the Pool Doctor for the first time about a year ago to replace the mastic around my pool. I was so impressed by the quality of the job, the timely communication and overall experience, that I recently decided to use them again to update some of my pool equipment.
Once again, The project was completed without a hitch. They cleaned up after themselves and even hauled away the old equipment without me asking.
In today's day and age, its hard to find a company that follows through on what they quote or promise.
Based on my experience with Gary & the entire staff at the Pool Doctor, they have earned a customer for life.
I can say with confidence, I highly recommend.

I have been a customer of this business for a number of years. Whenever I contact them regarding my hot tub they are able to do the job. Not only for hot tub servicing, but, also for maintaining my equipment. Their employees are friendly and know what they are doing. I highly recommend The Pool Doctor.
