Customer feedback is mixed. Positive reviews highlight helpful in-store guidance, clear communication from certain staff, and reliable scheduling for openings, closings, and equipment swaps. Critical reviews cite concerns about pricing transparency, product warranty handling, and follow-up on issues after service. Overall sentiment suggests good in-person assistance but uneven experiences with post-service resolution and costs.
Thought we were using a reputable pool store. They are not experts and they don’t warranty the products they sell. Runnnnn! We have been using them for years, not ever really solving problems and now they won’t warranty a pump they sell because it’s 20 days past the 1 year warranty even though it’s only been used for 6 months. “warranty is for people who live in CA or MN”. No common sense or consumer satisfaction.
Very disappointed. Be aware if there are any issues - they will make it your problem. My above ground pool which I had 12 years with no issues was damaged by a storm. I selected Performance pool to do this. They installed it in October of 2023. The winterized it and put on the winter cover. The cover wouldn't stay on and they told me I should just put a bunch of stakes around the pool. The pool was good for the first season. I opened it in the spring of 2025 and the liner had pulled out. I had to drain it and then they charged me $400 to tuck it back in. This spring the same thing happened - it came out so I drained it and tucked it back in and started to refill it. The liner pulled out again while it was filling and I had a bigger mess(sand washed out from the pool base). Keep in mind - they installed the liner originally, they charged me to fix it a year later and it happened again. To me it would seem something is wrong. I hadn't heard anything back after multiple emails and calls and was going to try to fix it myself with I looked closer at the liner and it was peeling and had a couple small tears close to the top. I sent this info over and they finally got back to me saying they were going to retuck the liner and fix the sand but if I was concerned they could replace the liner at a cost of over $6K+. This was after I spent 18K+ to buy the pool originally. Because of all the issues I had I decided to pay for the replacement because I couldn't keep dealing with the liner pulling out and having to drain and refill the pool every spring. They did lower the price but it was still over 3K.the sales people seem helpful but once the pool is installed they won't do much other than pass along your concern. I had copied our sales guy on an email to the service person and was scolded for copying him on the email. The communication from the service team is terrible. I kept trying to get updates as to when they were going to be here to replace my liner and I received a text the morning of that they were on their way.If you buy from here - keep in mind - you will be paying for any issues you might have. After the sales and install I was going to give them 5 stars but there is no way I could recommend them to anyone.
I have been a repeat customer of Poolwerx Twin Cities for several years without ever questioning an invoice. This was my last visit. The tech who came to my home on 6/3/2026 was pleasant, professional, and did the job efficiently. My issue is entirely with what happened after he left. The part installed was a Hayward W3T-CELL-15, which retails at Leslie's Pool for $1,099. I was charged $1,829 for the same part. When I questioned it via text, the explanation changed multiple times. Overhead and travel. Then an installed price including labor and tax. Then labor inclusion, despite a separate $189 labor line item already on the invoice. Then finally flat rate pricing, which was never mentioned until I had been asking questions for hours.Throughout this conversation I was told to 'take a moment' and that I 'still aren't quite understanding.' I understood everything perfectly. A customer asking reasonable questions about a $730 markup deserves a consistent and respectful answer, not condescension. This experience made me wonder how many times I accepted an invoice without doing my research. I won't be making that mistake again, and I won't be calling Poolwerx again either.Hayward W3T-CELL-15. $1,099 at Leslie's. $1,829 on my invoice. Do with that what you will.
We have worked with poolwerx for the past 4 years and have had a great experience! We have hired them for pool opening/closing, weekly chemicals and to fix/replace pool equipment. Bill has been our primary contact, he is knowledgeable, responds quickly and is very kind. We are so grateful for all the help and highly recommend them!
Max has been so helpful every time I have been in. It is my first time doing my pool chemicals. He is very knowledgeable and spends the time with you to make sure you feel confident when you walk away. I was just really impressed.
