Ramos Pools & Spa Construction is FANTASTIC. We had a really good experience working with them on our in-ground spa renovation. We got several bids, and Fernando Ramos was the only one who gave me confidence that he really had the expertise to properly do the renovation we wanted (and to our specs). When we asked him questions, he was very honest and always gave us scenarios and options to help us understand cost ahead of time, and he never added hidden or unexpected costs. He also made material samples along the way for us to ensure that we were happy with our choices before moving forward (which was particularly helpful since there aren't really public places where you can go see a colored glass bead finish in person). He was always very communicative, prompt, and clear about the timeline. His crews were always there when they said they would be, and all crew members were extremely kind, honest, respectful, and knowledgeable. They all care about their quality of work, and they work as a team. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences with a contractor we've had in the 17 years we've owned this house.Fernando is incredibly patient and knows his stuff. I would recommend his company in a heartbeat. His bid wasn't the lowest, but he was also the only one who didn't try to shave everything off the quote to bare essentials to secure the job. Others were trying to talk us out of stuff we wanted because it made the quote higher and didn't include stuff like haul-away. Furthermore, others were giving unrealistically short timelines because it was what they thought we needed to hear to sign a contract. Fernando Ramos was honest about the timeline end explained what was necessary during each process/phase. Having gone through the process now, I realize there was no possible way that the shorter timelines I was quoted were possible at all for this scope of work. Not only is Ramos Pools & Spa Construction expert in what they do, but they are also great with customer service every step of the way.The scope of work was significant for our small in-ground spa. It included: replacing all equipment with 2 variable pumps, new heater, new skimmer, main drain split, adding a blower, adding a wireless smart features with jet/waterfall actuator controls, adding an autofill, waterproofing and re-grouting our 100% natural rock waterfall, adding 2 steps, demo'ing down to gunite, bonded everything (including new steps), waterproofing and tiling entire backrest (from waterline down to seat), applying a custom Jewelscapes glass bead/concrete finish to all other spa surfaces, and they also did a very significant amount of re-plumbing. Fernando did an incredible job of matching the glass bead mixture and concrete color to to the tile and rocks to get the natural hot-spring color we wanted with our stone waterfall, which isn't probably a standard for what most people want for a pool.They were really patient while we made our decisions about finishes, and we went to a lot of places besides NPT to look for tile. Also, any changes we wanted and or concerns we had were addressed promptly and they always cared about our satisfaction. At no time did we feel pressured or rushed during this process, and because they exhibited a lot of integrity in every step, I never questioned that they'd make us happy. I expected this major project to be a little painful, but Ramos Pools & Spa Construction made it quite easy to handle from start to finish.
Francisco (owner) and his team could have done a better job. Honest, fair pricing (you get what you pay for), very experienced pool builder. Stands by their work. Still willing to help out when we have issues with the pool equipment 2 years later. Would recommend without hesitation. Thank you, Ramos Pools!
Ramos Pools & Spa Construction Inc. did an incredible job! Fernando and his team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They built our pool and completed the landscaping at our home in Coronado, CA, and the results are beyond our expectations.
