Great experience with our first pool build. Have owned a pool prior but this was our first build. Pedro, Esmeralda and Issac were all awesome to work with and responded to any questions we had. Started build in June and was swimming in August. We love it and couldn’t have asked for a better team. Thank you all!!??????

What started out as a wonderful experience quickly turned sour. We were quoted $140,000 to build a custom pool at my home. We had an existing pool but we wanted something bigger and more custom to our family. The work started out great but over time the work and the communication with the company fizzled out. The workers completely ruined the landscaping leading to the back of the house (where the pool is) and the workers broke our fence. We have three dogs, so it is not something we can go without! The workers also left so much trash in our yard both front and back and the company said that it was our responsibility to clean it up if we didn’t want the trash. Why would someone want trash in their yard?!
Once we made our final payment the company said they would no longer help us. My pool is currently flooding and instead of helping us out or even giving us a contact to a pool repair person (which why should I need a pool repair on a BRAND NEW POOL) the company said it was our problem, and we needed to figure it out. I would definitely NEVER use this company again on any of my homes nor would I recommend to any of my friends/family.

Let me start by saying WE ARE THRILLED WITH OUR NEW BLUE HAVEN POOL. We embarked on the remodel of our backyard several months ago. It was a blank canvas, and we had a lot to accomplish to create our dream backyard. The pool was, of course, the lynchpin and centerpiece. However, visualizing what a pool and deck would look like, along with the other elements we were building, was challenging. Enter Steve from Blue Haven!
Steve listened intently to our needs and vision. Out of the many bids and proposals we received, he was one of only two companies that actually measured out different pool options, calculated, and demonstrated the height of a retaining wall needed (our yard slopes) and what it would look like behind or in front of the pool. Steve even painted the grass to show the pool’s actual size on the ground. Thank goodness he did this! He saved us from the major mistake of building our pool too small and being disappointed. In a short space of time, we locked in our optimum pool size, covering form, function, and cost—all extremely important. Steve then presented us with a 3D walkthrough of our pool, pergola, decking, retaining wall, and new grass the next day. This allowed us to fine-tune and lock in the design and price.
Bring on the construction!
We set Steve and the team a challenge: we wanted the pool open for my wife’s birthday celebration. The Blue Haven team said it would be one of the fastest times to get a pool built and clients swimming, but they rose to the challenge, and guess what? They did it. Every part of the construction and installation went smoothly, with oversight from Jim or someone else from the office when Jim was on vacation. The team was only a phone call or text away to answer any questions. Despite two weeks of on-and-off rain, they still met the dates and delivered quality work. At times, the owner of the local operation made trips out to check on things and ensure everything was completed to their (and our) high standards.
As with all big projects, things don’t always go to plan—that’s just life. However, the Blue Haven team was professional with slight missteps. Even if it was something a contractor missed, Blue Haven owned the issue and resolved it. I always say it’s not the issues you look at but how a company steps up to the plate and handles them. In this respect, they were A+.
In some areas, they went above and beyond and surprised us with a few extra features, such as creating a seating area with his and hers sections (shorter seating for my wife and friends who are shorter ??).
The design help and advice from Blue Haven team ensured we had the pool of our dreams — something many other companies lacked or took days/weeks to answer a question or even produce a quote.
Additionally, as we wanted some custom decking, Steve put us in contact with the concrete contractor they used and suggested we deal directly with them to save money and avoid the middleman’s cut. This honesty and customer-first approach worked out great. As they worked and knew the contractor, it was seamless from our side as they coordinated and got the job done—a win-win for us.
As I said at the beginning, we are THRILLED and would not hesitate to recommend Blue Haven to anyone. In fact, I already have. Such a great company—from the owners and their family who work in the business to the project and sales teams to the contractors they use—all first-class and customer-focused.
