Miguel Alizo! Amazing pool technician. Miguel took the time to explain why I needed a new pump and the benefits of upgrading my system. Miguel provided outstanding customer service! My pool tech forever!! Thank you Miguel!
They break your equipment and then charge you over $300 to fix it….07/07/07 We have been with this company and its predecessors for several years. Often on we've had minor issues that customer service was very quick to resolve. It appears those days are behind us. This weekend during a scheduled visit, the technician left open the electrical panel, the pump panel, and did not seat. The drain covers in the pool deck. On top of that he cracked the left pipe nut coming from the filter house by tightening it with a metal wrench and cracking it and simply walking away. The end result is well over 1000 gallons of water in my yard. I emailed immediately and after no response on Monday morning, I called them and basically got the blow off. Called back three times before Kraig took my call and promised me that it would be fixed this morning. Here we are at 6:15 on Tuesday evening and no-show. Left messages for Kraig with a promise for a call back and of course nothing.07/10: after repeated discussions and assuring me there would repair the damage caused by their technician, they have decided instead to charge me $320 to repair the damage caused by their technician.
Miguel Aliza of POOLTEC provided outstanding repair service and diagnostics for my pool. Miguel is knowledgeable, professional, and he was creative in solving a leak issue. He took time to help me understand the mechanics of various components of my pool including in pool cleaning system, heater, chiller, swim jet, & water features so that I could troubleshoot in the future. He checked each component to make sure it was functioning correctly and showed me how to reset the system. If you have repair issues with POOLTEC in the Houston Texas area, I recommend that you ask for Miguel Alizo.
I hired PoolTec because I wanted the accountability, communication, and reporting that supposedly comes with a larger professional company. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite.Problems started almost immediately. I requested not to be enrolled in autopay after initially providing payment information, but my account was charged automatically anyway. I was also told a technician's visit was only a diagnostic and would not count as my first paid service, but I was later charged for it.The more serious issues involved communication and equipment handling. The chlorinator feeder tubing line was damaged during service and left actively leaking. The service report still indicated everything was normal, and I was never proactively informed of the issue. I only discovered it 2 days later after the landscaper alerted me and I reviewed my security camera footage. I ended up having to fix it myself since I was alerted about the leak on Friday afternoon during memorial day weekend, so I couldn't get ahold of anyone until Tuesday the following week. After raising the issue, I learned there was a known condition causing the chlorinator body to rotate during servicing. Despite the first leak incident, the underlying problem was never properly addressed. The same technician later serviced the same chlorinator, camera footage again showed the chlorinator body rotating, and ANOTHER, much bigger leak occurred afterward. What concerns me most is that the reports became impossible to trust. On one visit, the technician personally texted me that the pool water level was low and that he was shutting down the system to protect the equipment because nobody was available to add water. That information never appeared in the official service report, which again indicated everything was fine.If a technician is identifying important operational issues directly by text but those issues are not reflected in the written reports, then the reports have very little value to an owner trying to monitor a property remotely. The final straw was reviewing security footage and observing the technician urinating on my property during a service visit. I understand outdoor service work can present challenges, but I found that behavior extremely unprofessional and after everything that had happened, I considered it disrespectful. The customer service representatives I spoke with were polite and tried to help. My issue is with the company's operational communication, accountability, and quality control. Because the company is so large, it was extremely difficult to determine who was responsible for what, get consistent answers, or have anyone take ownership of recurring problems.I have since hired another pool service and canceled my account despite their offer of a free month.
We have been using Pooltec for a while now for cleanings and maintenance and have been completely satisfied. Maria is our pool tech, and she is absolutely fantastic! She is thorough, reliable, and completes every task perfectly. She keeps the water crystal clear and perfect for swimming year-round. Pooltec has been great to work and having Maria as our pool tech has been a game changer for our peace of mind knowing our pool is ready whenever we want to use it.
