Some feedback mentions communication gaps after payment and issues requiring follow-up, including tile selection and fixture placement concerns. Many customers recommend the company for resurfacing or complex remodel finishes, while a few suggest clearer post-install responses would improve the experience.
As a tile subcontractor, I’ve worked alongside a lot of different trades, and Renu Pool Plastering is one of the companies that stands out. Their crew is professional, organized, and takes pride in the quality of their work. They communicate well, keep the job moving, and leave behind a finish that looks great. It’s always nice working with a team that respects other trades and understands the importance of doing things the right way. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Renu Pool Plastering to anyone looking for quality pool plaster work.
Renu was great to work with through getting the job organized, the quote was competitive, and they were prompt getting the work done. After the work was completed, it was then realized that they placed return jet nozzles on electrical fixtures. I reached out to find out why that was done, I didn't hear back, but I was able to find lights that could easily be swapped into the place of a return jet nozzle, so I just dealt with that and was happy to have it all back together. They might have eventually got this rectified had I pursued it, but I just took care of it myself. There was another pool contractor involved, and it is possible the contractor is the one who dropped the ball here in not passing correct info to the plaster crew. There were some grout issues that popped up here a year later (pictured), and Renu has been responsive and that looks to be resolved. I have no doubt if other issues are discovered, they will correct them. The quality of the plaster looks great so far, and I managed the chemical break-in and curing myself (not a service they offer).
Had Renu come out and look at our condo pool and hot tub. They were great to work with and did a fine job. Would recommend. We used Pebble Sheen on both of them.
First off, I want to say that the people are nice here but that was about it as far as a good experience. First, they really communicated well and quickly, until I signed and paid. Then the communication got very sparse and very delayed. Next, the wrong water line tile was ordered and installed and they wouldn't do anything about it. We even have pictures of the correct one. After that, the plaster installed looked really bad. Very dirty, splotchy and old looking. This was a remodel so to have it already look 5 years old right off the bat was very disappointing. It does not look like the catalog pictures or what they said it would look like. We had the PebbleTec Rep come look at it and he agreed that, "they could have done a better job." As a result the company came and acid washed and buffed the plaster several months later. It did help, but still doesn't look like a brand new plaster job. It is very patchy and not a nice white like it was said it would be. In the process of buffing, many tiles were scratched and color removed and we were told that "that happens" and we probably "won't notice". I definitely notice! Our pool lights that were working before construction, are not working after and we were told that it must be a coincidence and they can "get us a bid" if we'd like them fixed. There were a few other issues and I feel like they don't do their best work the first time so there was a lot of coming back to see if they can fix it. All in all, I am super sad about the way it turned out and very embarrassed to tell people that we just got it redone. For the cost of almost $35,000 I would have expected better!
Renu Pool Plastering just does things right. If you have experienced contractors in the pool industry, you know the anxiety. You will pay a little more than others, but it will be done right, communicated well, and end with a beautiful pool or remodel. Renu wasable to handle a complicated remastering that included two different types of pebbletec, a tiled beach entry and an infinity edge. Jose the crew boss is extraordinarily communicative. They come when they say they will be there, and any issues get resolved quickly. If you need a reference or want to see their work you can have Renu give you my number. Happy to share the experience. Very happy!
