We have a pool that was originally plasters with BeadCrete. It lasted over 16 years but finally was showing its age and there was bleeding due to an iron rebar near the steps that needed attention. My wife is in the wholesale swimming pool supply industry and received a recommendation for a plasterer. I ended up getting estimates from other businesses as well. One thing I have to say, Billy was quick to answer my call and I received an estimate that evening. Compared to the other companies, they either never responded to me or forgot to provide an estimate after looking at the pool. That firm finally provided a general estimate which was higher than Kingfish’s estimate. The recommended plasterer from my wife’s company did not even provided me a quote and another pool company turned me down due to a commercial job that they picked up.Needless to say, my cold call to Kingfish Pools resulted in Billy being picked for our project. Based on our discussions with him, Billy is very knowledgeable about his craft. This was also verified by people in the industry regarding his knowledge base.We went with plastering the pool with PolishScapes, which is labor-intensive but worth the money. It will probably last me over 20+ years. We also installed a handrail near the steps of the pool since the wife and I are getting older.Billy had several crews working on this project. This included the prep crew that worked to chip below tile band, jets and lights.Other crews also installed the handrail; fixed loose coping and re-grouted the pool tiles; fixed the bleeding of the rebar; the application of bond kote on the entire surface of pool; the plastering of the pool with PolishScapes; acid wash process for the PolishScapes plaster mix; and finally hand buffing the PolishScapes with diamond buffer pads on the entire surface until it became smooth and shiny with the glass aggregates shimmering within the plaster. This seems a lot of work and it was. All of the above steps in this project took four days of labor and was finished quickly. Every crew member was extremely respectful, cheerful, courteous, and they did an awesome job.Kingfish Pools is able to provide everything you need for your backyard oasis. All you do is to fill the pool with water.Billy will be there for you to prep the pool once it is filled with water and give you detailed instructions to help you during curing of the plaster as it strengthens and seals. If you are looking for a reputable firm and a person who stands behind his work, look no further. Kingfish Pools will get the job done and you will be satisfied with the quality of their work. I highly recommend this company.
Billy and his team were amazing. Very knowledgeable experienced. Walked us through the process and was always in touch if we needed him. His crew was polite and always cleaned up after themselves. Our pool was a complete renovation- coping, tile and plaster with shallowing of the deep end and constructing a tanning ledge with steps. Totally transformed our backyard.
Be aware , over priced , if you are older they will take advantage of you . $450 for a motor replacement? 200 for cartridge cleaning ? 200 to diagnose the equipment that only take 5 min ?500 a month to clean your pool ? This company is one big scam . If you get a pool built by them they will give you the run around when it comeTime for warranty work . I know several ppl who is still waiting on warranty from new built pools and plaster work . Also plaster is sub contracted , you will be charge a hefty price getting plaster work from them , same as leak detection .
If Billy wasn’t the owner I would’ve tried to hire him for my company. From the very beginning his calm and knowledgeable demeanor put me right at ease. He stayed in constant contact throughout the entire project. Our pool, pond, and entire backyard turf were all completed in 6 weeks from the day construction began. You get what you pay for with Kingfish Pools. Y'all know the saying…Good work is not cheap. Cheap work is not good. Kingfish did amazing work for the price they quoted and within the timeframe they promised.
From start to finish Kingfish Pools was efficient and reliable. The owner Billy has great communication and follows up quickly. At the end of the job he came out and put us through Pool School and went over and above to make sure all our equipment was working properly and explained how it all ran. I would highly recommend Kingfish Pools. I have referred several friends to them.
