I had a contractor come out and look at completing some work at my home (repair and hole in the ceiling and fix some dry wall around a window). The contractor came out gave me an estimate. I called, scheduled the appointment and paid the $1000 deposit. The work was scheduled for a Friday afternoon, with a 12 to 4 arrival window. At 3:30, I called to followed up because I had received no tracking information ( which had been provided for all other appointments) and the tech had not shown up. At that time it was shared that the tech had gotten into an accident and would not be able to make my appointment. Accidents happen, not a big deal. I took the women's offer to have someone come out the following afternoon (Saturday) to complete the work.

The next day, waited from 11:30am until 4:00pm and no one showed up. I called only to be informed that no one was there and that the only way I could contact someone was by email. I did that and waited to here back. A man called me at around 7pm Saturday evening apologizing profusely. I explained that I needed the work done before Christmas and if that was not possible than I would like my deposit back. He assured me that he would get it done and offered me the following Sunday morning as an option. He hung up to confirm with someone that it could be done at that time and called me back to confirm it was a go. The following Sunday I waited from 7:30am until 1:30pm and again no technician showed (no call, no text, no email). I called and again I was told no one was available to speak with me and that the only way I could contact someone was by email. I sent an email about the situation and formally requested a refund of my deposit.

I followed up the next day and spoke to a woman who said she would request the deposit and follow up with me when it was being processed. Surprise, surprise, she didn't call back. I called back in the afternoon and was told by someone who "went in the back and checked" and confirmed that my refund had been processed and I should receive it between 5-7 business days.

Two weeks later I still have not received my deposit back. I called again today and was informed that it was processed Friday the 2nd, almost two weeks after the initial request and being informed that it was processed.

The communication or lack there of is deplorable. To date I still have not received a phone call, email, explanation or apology regarding this situation. Despite the fact that this company claims to pride themselves on customer service, they have along way to go in that department. I would not recommend using them for your renovation or remodeling needs.

Anyone who owns an older home knows how difficult it is to get a reputable company to renovate almost any room in that old house, especially the kitchen or a bathroom. Our house was built in 1938. Bathrooms back then were very utilitarian and our tiny master only had a toilet and sink. It took me 6 interviews for free quotes, and 2 semi-demolitions to find the right company, Michael and Sons.

I had no idea they did remodeling. I actually contacted them to talk about plumbing possibilities and/or problems I may run into once we opened up the bathroom floor. They told me I needed to talk to their remodeling department and 2 days later I met my saving grace and general contractor, Tamer Ali.

A week or so later, the project was underway and they were done in 2 ½ weeks. They brought in specialists for certain parts, and the onsite manager, Filiberto, was a master at figuring out how to work around obstructions and quirky, unlevel walls and floors.

I now have a beautiful new master bathroom with a marble-tiled walk-in shower, a custom-made sink cabinet and heated marble mosaic floors. They did a beautiful job, quickly, and fairly priced.
