I cannot say enough about the great experience we had with Moore Construction Group; we actually used them twice. Our project was large enough that we split it into two, with about a six month gap in between. We absolutely would use them again. We have a 98-year-old home that has seen its share of poorly completed repairs and renovations over the decades. Nate, Rachel, and Marco worked hard to help us complete back-permitting, multiple repairs/remediation, as well as a nearly-whole-home renovation. The end result is even better than we could have imagined.
There are three main reasons to use Moore Construction Group. First, everything will be permitted and inspected, giving homeowners peace of mind. They are well known to the city of Alexandria and will do everything up to code, with inspections passed quickly. Second, Rachel and Marco listen, are really responsive, and will give homeowners advice that allows the project to become even more than what the homeowners were expecting. Rachel’s layout sense and Marco’s collaboration with homeowners allows the project to move forward while also improving safety, flow and sense of space. Especially when working with old homes, this is priceless. The collaboration extends to working with small businesses preferred by the homeowner, allowing the space to be more personalized. The third reason to use them is they will not only manage budget (and help homeowners stick to it), but also their pricing is much more affordable than multiple other contractors in the area. Therefore homeowners get a fantastic collaboration, high quality work, and a good price.
Things they were able to recommend along the way that made the project such a success: recognizing that if the duct work was re-routed, we could increase the ceiling height in the kitchen by nearly a foot; feathering out a wall to allow the HVAC ducts to run in a location that improved flow and layout in one of the bathrooms; built-in layout; structural repair recommendations allowing the porches to be more stable; insulation recommendations and installation additions which have made a world of difference in this old house.

Siding installation (with new/added insulation behind), plus sistering/stabilizing the old home's framing as needed

I cannot rave enough about Moore Construction Group. We did two home addition projects with them. The first was a living space with master en suite. We loved working with them so much that we hired them again two years later for a kitchen addition off of the other side of the house. They provide excellent communication, transparency, polished designs (thanks, Rebekah and Rachel!), detailed craftsmanship and excellent sub-contractors (like Daniel!). They clean up after every work day and made living through a construction zone with two small children manageable. Most importantly, they stand by their work. Marco is truly a hero and a saint -- he saved us so much time and money by coming up with solutions to the problems that our 1940s home confronted them with. He truly puts his heart into his projects and wants his clients thrilled with the end results... and we were!

My husband and I used Moore Construction for a major renovation of our house in Alexandria. We added a master suite, reconfigured the downstairs, and replaced the front and back porches. Rebekah and Rachel did a great job with the design, and Marco and his crew were fabulous. They were so professional and courteous and did superb job. Moore has its own crews, so we never had to wait for the next phase of work to begin. Rachel helped me shop for carpet, paint colors, bathroom vanity, etc. -- all things I hate to do -- and the office manager checked on us frequently to make sure we were satisfied.

We also added an elevator so that we can age in place. Moore worked with the manufacturer to install one that we are already using. (Aging in place came sooner than we expected!) Moore went above and beyond expectations to make this work as the manufacturer was, frankly, very difficult.

I highly recommend the Moore Construction Group to anyone looking to have work done in their home.

Cole and colleagues on the design side knew exactly what we were trying to achieve and produced ideas that never even occured to us. We had Moore Construction add a large addition to our home, as well as provide some interior renovations in 2022/2023. We had a great experience with the Moore Construction Team from design through construction and close-out. Our PM Rachel provided some fantastic designs to us, including a design that was different than the others and ended up being our favorite layout and what we ultimately selected!

The Moore Construction team was excellent communicators with us throughout both design and construction. Their project superintendent Marco was always very transparent with us when issues and change orders came up. We were fortunate to have very few change orders on our project, and we found their pricing generally pretty fair and reasonable.

As construction moved along, the Moore Construction team really helped us out by offering some modifications and suggestions on altering the design (including going from a kitchen peninsula jump-up bar to just one flat slab which we absolutely love as it gives our house an even more open feel).

The construction crew were great to work with and be around as we lived through about two months of construction before moving out. They did a great job communicating their needs early and we rarely felt like we were making last-second, rushed decisions or adjustments to our lives. They were also very understanding and kept communication open as we got closer to our move-in date and did everything they had to in order for us to move back in.

In summary, we cannot recommend Moore Construction enough. They were a great company to work with and we can't speak highly enough about their staff. Thank you Rachel, Marco, Nate, Jennifer and the entire Moore Construction Group for giving us a home that we love.
