We worked with Forward Design for a kitchen and ensuite bathroom remodel in 2025. We knew going into it we wanted someone to hold our hand throughout the process, and I cannot think of anything more they could have done to make us feel comfortable. Designing was professional and fun, and they were very respectful of our budget and wants/needs. Communication was consistently great, and the individuals who came into the house were fantastic. The finished project has elevated the whole house! I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again, and recommend them to friends and family.

We had the great opportunity to work with Forward Design Build (FDB) to remodel the first floor of our Ann Arbor home in 2025. From the beginning of the process all the way through the end, we had a stellar experience. The entire FDB team was supportive, patient, and world-class. We began the project with an introduction and showcase our current space while explaining what we wanted. Moving in to the design phase, we loved working with the team to select every detail. And finishing in the construction phase, we saw the excellent communication and craftmanship come to life. The result was an on-budget, on-time project that we're in love with. Impressed by the quality materials and thoughtful design demonstrated in their finished projects, my wife and I hired Forward Design Build to prepare our modest home for aging in place. Knowing that construction can reveal unexpected (and expensive) challenges, we wanted Forward’s experience regarding the opportunities and constraints their team would see in our 1956 ranch. While we know some changes are needed, we did not want to miss out on opportunities such changes might also offer.

The Forward team’s expertise and ideas were first rate, the process transparent, and the people a joy. Our designer and project manager brought us three different options. The first would address our most pressing need - an updated, accessible bathroom. The next improved the bathroom and created a small addition to host an easier entrance and a first-floor laundry. The third did all the above AND managed to squeeze in a more gently pitched basement stairway and improve our kitchen layout.

The budget implications - both in materials and labor - and process necessary for of all three of these concepts were described in great detail. The professionals at Forward were generous with their time and expertise as we puzzled over how to satisfy two of the three proverbial legs of ANY ideal construction project - good, fast, and inexpensive. Due to our own current budget constraints, we have not moved into the next, build phase of our remodeling project.

Yet.

Working with Forward Design Build has equipped us to more realistically retrench as we prepare for a much longer, phased approach to the changes that should be made to our home as we enter our retirement years. Our experience with Forward Design Build was uniformly positive - and we cannot recommend them highly enough anyone considering a home addition or improvement!

We decided to do our remodel with Forward Design Build based on the recommendations of some friends who were very satisfied with them. It was a very positive experience working with them throughout the entire process, starting with the design phase and then the actual remodel. All the people who came to the house to work were extremely nice and very competent in what they were doing. Any time a problem arose they immediately addressed the issues and provided the best solution they could come up with. We are very happy with the end result. Our remodeled space turned out beautifully and it is very functional. I love my new kitchen with the nice cabinets and the new appliances. The master bath is great looking and everything works very well. All in all we were very happy with Forward and highly recommend them.

We are thrilled with the outcome. Not only are the new spaces beautiful, but they also function as well as they look. The entire team was committed to finishing everything on time and correctly, paying close attention to details throughout the process. This dedication is reflected in the fantastic outcome they achieved. We are very happy with the project and highly recommend Forward Design.
