My husband and I needed to make a move to a new city, where our daughters’ families reside, so as to bring our special needs son into closer proximity to them, “just in case” something were to happen to my husband and me in the future. The move has been emotionally difficult, due to the specific needs. We had an outline of what we needed to look for in a house, but couldn’t find it all in a house that we could afford. We ended up finding a house to purchase that had almost everything we needed. However, it was lacking a bedroom with the requirements needed for our son’s comfort. We didn’t anticipate having to have construction done to a new house, so we were in a dilemma. I tell this bit of our personal story simply to illustrate that these guys are even more than all of the other good qualities outlined by other people giving them excellent reviews. Yes, as others have written, Joseph and Steve of Oak Standard, are professional, and efficient, and their crew does excellent work. They pay attention to the details, and they’re available to communicate as the work is being done, AND they come through with the quality they promise. However, above and beyond all of that which makes them excellent contractors, they serve their customer’s construction needs with a heart for the people they contract with! Joseph and Steve took time to listen to us express our needs, and then spent time discussing the best way to construct the room that my son was in need of, and they even added some necessary features that we hadn’t realized were also needed. I can’t express in words, on this review, the extent of gratitude we have for this team that came promptly to our rescue, worked diligently to complete the project as quickly as possible, and did so without cutting quality in regard to the smallest of details. They do good work, but more importantly, and more valuable than that, is the quality of people they are! I will be recommending them to all of our friends and family members!

We recently had The Oak Standard remodel our primary bathroom. Joseph, Maria, and Steve were all so great to work with and we would definitely recommend The Oak Standard to our friends! The team did everything they could to move the project along in a timely manner, including assisting with the design selections and purchases, which was tremendously helpful. My wife and I initially reached out to the Oak Standard based on a referral from a friend. We had a very large project - to remodel a lake home built in the 1970's. It was a wood foundation house that had received many changes over the years but now we wanted a fresh start - a do-over to make it our forever home. We met with Joseph to describe our vision. He also has some great ideas to share - things we agreed would make the home beautiful. Things like a stamped concrete patio, beams high in the family room, and interior doors & trim. We also met his wife, Maria, who was an interior designer. She really helped with defining the interior feel as well as with the selection of cabinets, shelves, flooring, fixtures, and paint. They were both so helpful. When we ran into challenges, usually due to the age of the home and building code back then, Joseph and his team presented options to help us determine the best solutions to meet those challenges. When it came to construction, the Oak Standard team was quick without sacrificing quality. We are very happy with their work and would definitely recommend the Oak Standard.
