Amazing construction experience. I am a former contractor and I will say Nickelson Construction was a fantastic choice. They are extremely thorough throughout the project and most importantly always updating on schedule and keeping us posted on progress. All of the sub contractors were extremely polite and engaging. And I could not leave out the lead supervisor Steve. He was amazing and very informative on any questions or concerns we had. I highly recommend Nickelson Construction.

When we decided to build our mountain home, we were both excited and a little nervous because it’s such a big project, and you hear so many horror stories about builders. But working with Nickelson Construction was honestly a dream from start to finish.
We wanted a smaller, modern home inspired by Scandinavian design (we’re from Denmark), and they completely understood our vision down to the clean lines, minimalist approach, and energy efficiency. Every step of the process felt collaborative. They were always transparent, always communicative, and genuinely cared about getting it right.
They told us the build would take between five and eight months — and they finished in six. There were no surprise costs, no excuses, just honest hard work and great organization. Our home is not only beautiful and solid, but it definitely feels like us.

We had our mountain home built by Nickelson Construction, and honestly, we couldn’t be happier. It’s a smaller modern house in Scandinavian style, and they totally got our vision.
They were super easy to work with, always responsive, and great at explaining every step. What really stood out was their transparency on cost and timing — no surprise charges, no delays. They promised 5–8 months and finished in 6!

Nickelson did an amazing job from start to finish with our big kitchen remodel! Clear and timely communication was important to us, and both Isaac and Stephen were excellent communicators. The budget and timeline were accurate, so there were no big surprises along the way. They set realistic expectations, were highly knowledgeable, and had very good attention to detail. The quality of work is absolutely stellar. I really have no complaints - any issues that arose were pretty minor and were promptly addressed. I would 100% recommend Nickelson for remodels and/or new builds; we hope to work with them again in the future!

We chose Nickelson Construction for our 2021 home addition after interviewing and receiving estimates from over a dozen contractors. They weren’t the lowest estimate, but neither were they the highest. They won the job because their estimate was the most transparent and detailed, they were the best at communication, and they were willing to customize against our budget in an honest, thorough manner. From the first estimate, Isaac indicated that his goal was a limited number of change orders through the course of the project so that we stayed on budget. He knows what he’s doing because once all was said and done we only had a total of three minor change orders that were completely because of us as homeowners changing our minds on a feature.

Even during a pandemic when labor and supplies were in short supply, the project stayed mostly on schedule and within budget. The quality of the workmanship was above reproach and, in the couple instances we asked for a rework or change, it was done without hesitation and to our satisfaction. We lived in our house with small children through the renovation and here are some highlights that made this possible:
Great communication was maintained throughout the project, streamlined through a competent and thorough project manager.
A consistent schedule was maintained and our own needs as homeowners were considered.
The subcontractors that were brought onsite were professional and courteous.
The jobsite was kept tidy and contained.
Our furniture and belongings were taken care of respectfully

We’ve been living in our addition for a year now so can attest to the completeness of the job and prompt attention to any of our post-construction inquiries. We will absolutely be working with Nickelson Construction again in the future!
