From the bid to through construction the experience was great!
We recently completed a new deck addition to our home, a project managed and executed by Hagen from Rugged General Contracting. Before selecting a contractor, we obtained multiple bids from various companies. After careful consideration, we reached out to Hagen by phone to formally request a proposal fro Rugged General. Although Hagen was working out of state at the time, he promptly went us photographs of previous deck projects where he had used TimberTech as the surface material.What stood out to us was Hagen's well thought-out plan to demolish our existing deck and rebuild it within the same footprint.This approach allowed us to reuse our existing iron railing and circular staircase.Once work commenced, all of materials from demolition were thoroughly removed from site. Hagen also improved the design by placing new support posts in positions that enhanced our view of the yard and landscape below. The new TimberTech deck and especially the stairs leading to our bedroom, turned out beautifully.Hagen coordinated with the son of a friend who originally builtour iron railing. Together they reinstalled it perfectly.As an added bonus, Hagen suggested we stain the underside supports and posts a light cream color to match deck surface and arranged for a painter who completed project in just one day.
Hagen did a great job on my deck, trim work, and exterior house painting. It was a complicated job, but he stuck to the timetable and proactively provided updates throughout the process. Note - pictures were prior to completion. Would definitely recommend him!
