We had an outstanding experience working with Your Kingston Contractor. From the very beginning, John, who lead the project was incredibly transparent, communicative, and professional. Every time an issue came up or an adjustment was needed, he made sure to share it with us right away, always giving us the opportunity to provide input and make informed decisions together. He built our Sawmill prefab structure with great care, upgrading key elements to ensure everything was solid, functional, and beautifully finished. From installing the flooring to constructing a sturdy base for the cabin, and creating a simple yet polished layout — he exceeded our expectations. The bathroom and kitchen he built are especially well-crafted and thoughtfully designed. He also took the time to educate us throughout the process, offering valuable insight into building codes, permits, and proper practices. His knowledge and guidance gave us real peace of mind.On top of that, he handled the landscaping, worked closely with the township to ensure everything was compliant, and brought in skilled plumbers and electricians who did excellent work. He truly did not cut corners — every detail was handled with integrity and care. We’re incredibly grateful for his dedication, transparency, and the pride he took in his work. Your Kingston Contractor helped bring our vision to life, and we can’t thank him enough!

The full review is below, but for a quick summary of why we gave 5 stars:- We are extremely satisfied with the final product- John fulfilled all our requests, and even improved on some of our original design choices- Constant communication kept the project within budget and in a reasonable timelineWe had a master bedroom and ensuite bathroom that needed major updating. We hired YKC based on a colleague’s recommendation. John laid out the plan and had subcontractors available for every part of the project. The people John hires do solid work and, like John, are very courteous and professional.Where YKC really shines is their execution of your vision when you only have a general idea of what you want. Two things worth mentioning are the wainscotting in the bedroom (which turned out even better than we imagined) and the custom walnut vanity in the ensuite (when the first quote was too much, John called someone else who got it done for less and did a fantastic job).Their attention to detail was also greatly appreciated. John found new hardwood floors that matched the adjacent hallway’s 30-year-old red oak flawlessly. They would also mention things we didn’t even think of, like the dimensions of the recessed shelves in the shower, the best orientation for tiles, and colour-matching door hinges to other bathroom hardware. Finally, we were very grateful for their insistence on 100% satisfaction. We had a faulty tub drain (manufacturer defect) that caused a subtle dripping sound. John insisted on ensuring it was replaced and fixed, and was very mindful in his final sweeps to ensure nothing was missed. We are already planning to have YKC return for our kitchen renovations in the near future. It sounds like they’ve also done whole-home projects, so no matter the size of your job, we highly recommend them!
Imagination Made RealJohn and his team are magicians. When we purchased this bungalow in spring 2024 we knew It needed work. We were recommended John from an Occupational Therapist who stated he installed the best accessible shower she had seen in her career. No doubt about it, John knows how to enchant wood, glass, paint and metal to bring about marvellous results! He and his team were able to bring about what we envisioned in our minds and bring it to reality. They did not confine themselves to the space presented, but were able to colour outside the lines and suggest reconfigurations and move things here and relocate things there for a better vision of what we wanted. They did not limit themselves to the boxes of defined walls or just because a shower was there before, didn’t mean a shower had to be there again…it could be a perfect spot instead for a vanity instead! Walls were punched out, closets reconfigured etc. John even figured out a way to move the stairway opening in a least intrusive way to still accommodate my desire for a wider bedroom door, while ensuring people do not bump their heads while walking down the stairs. He listened to our budget and stayed on budget while hitting all of our wants and wishes. Nothing was missed! Where traditional doors would not work, there was the addition of custom closet doors and barn doors. He has suggestions to make things better, things you would not even think of (e.g. modernizing our baseboards and molding around the windows to better go with our look), again while talking budget and price every step of the way so no surprises. He and his team have been very patient as we ordered custom coloured tiles for our kitchen and continue to wait for additional colours for our accessible shower. I mean, look at the ramp for the accessible shower….it is art, it is precision. It is perfection!! We still have a bit to go, but almost there so wanted to share in our happiness.John listens to what you what and makes that happen....on budget! He makes dreams real. We are thrilled to be working with John and his team on the first floor and look forward to the basement for stage II and then onto stage III! They are delightful to work with and do a fantastic job!

We were especially pleased with the tradespeople that he partners with. They are professional, courteous and delivered on all aspects. Now that our project is finished, John has checked in several times to ensure we are pleased with the outcome and quality. We highly recommend YKC and will definitely partner with them again for future projects.
