Custom Built Design & Remodeling recently created a new bedroom in our basement, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Everything from the first meeting to the final payment was an absolute pleasure. We had many requests along the way that may have halted others in the completion of the project, but they handled everything we threw at them with grace, compassion, and care. It was consistently clear to us that all they cared about was making everything perfect for us. Project managers were professional and attentive, ensuring a smooth and stress-free process. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and the team completed the project on time and within budget. The bedroom looks incredible, and I highly recommend Custom Built Design for any renovation needs. Thank you to the entire team for going above and beyond on our project!

Dianna Corsi was absolutely wonderful to work with! We are very detailed oriented, and thought we knew exactly what we wanted going in, but Dianna came up with multiple alternative designs for us to consider, and all of them were really great. She made the process so easy for us, and utilized modern technology to enable us to see lifelike renderings of the options available to us to make our space more functional and really beautiful.

We also have to give a shout out to Emily Otten, who greeted us upon our first arrival at Custom Built in Okemos. Incredibly friendly, professional, and she brought us some really good coffee (and we are coffee snobs lol).

For us working with Custom Built has been a far more superior experience compared with previous home improvement/remodeling ones we’ve had with other Lansing area “professionals” or the big box home improvement contractors, hands down.

We will absolutely go straight to Custom Built for any future remodel/update projects for our home.

Just redid my kitchen that dated back to 60/70. Custom built and Greg handled my redo.beautifully done was hard to Handel living without a kitchen sink or stove so of course wish it went faster but the end result has come out great and very happy. Thank you custom built.Andy. M

Using Custom Built Design & Remodeling was the best decision we made when it came to removing our two unusable balconies and creating a larger usable one. They fabricated the railing to match the railing inside our home. Their attention to details was spot on. I also love our new corbels. Eight were removed and replaced with more decorative ones that stayed with the gingerbread theme of our home. And you can’t even tell there was a door on the upper level. The process from the design stage to completion was flawless. Greg Winter was the best project leader. They communicated with us on a regular basis, when they said they’d be here, they were. They were very professional. We highly recommend them. We are already thinking of other projects went want them to do. You can’t go wrong with them doing your project.

We had such a great experience with Custom Built from start to finish. The whole process was smooth and easy — which is not something you always get to say about a construction project! Anytime we had a question, Greg, Dave, or Tyler were right there with quick, thoughtful answers. Dave and Tyler are usually working hard on the job so it was a huge bonus that Greg's role makes him available to us whenever we had a question that felt pressing. This really makes them stand out from other compaines ????

The communication was honestly next-level. The group chat included everyone — the salesperson, supervisors, and us — so nothing ever slipped through the cracks. We also got to work with real designers who created a 3D graphic of our poolhouse plan, which saved us from about ten debates at home. It made everything so much easier to visualize and tweak before construction started.

They also have an online tool that shows your project calendar with photos and updates, which we loved. You can tell they’ve really thought about how to make the process smooth and stress-free, and they deliver on that vision from day one.

The finished poolhouse is exactly what we hoped for, and we couldn’t be prouder. The materials and craftsmanship are top-notch — everything feels solid, thoughtfully done, and built to last. During the design and scheduling phase, we both had that moment of, “Okay, these guys really know what they’re doing.”

We’d recommend Custom Built in a heartbeat. Sure, every big project has the potential for a hiccup or two — that’s just part of managing a lot of very detailed information (especially when coordinating with and working around other contractors on other projects)— but what matters is how it’s handled. These guys jump on things fast, with professionalism and genuine care. They made the whole experience not just stress-free, but actually kind of fun (and that’s saying something when power tools and concrete are involved ??).
