The subcontractors he works with were also great—professional and detail-oriented. Kojo truly went above and beyond to help me meet a tight deadline, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. Perhaps the most difficult yet most important challenge facing a home owner with a project is to find just the right contractor who can bring your dream into reality. For us, our search ended at our first conversation with MK Builders. There was a noticeable difference with their approach as Kojo immediately began to envision exactly what we wanted to create. He looked at our 1890s farmhouse and 60 year old kitchen and saw a beautiful, efficient workspace. Within days, he brought together all the elements needed and choreographed the complex process needed to accomplish our goal efficiently.

Once Matt and Joe began the process, we could see that there would be no “cutting corners”. Every detail had to fit together precisely and seamlessly and their craftsmanship showed as the process progressed. Doors and windows fit perfect, wiring did not interfere with wall penetrations, cabinets sat on level floors, everything came together perfectly. They beat our deadline by a week, our punch list was almost non existent, the finished product was what we envisioned. Quality materials, craftsmanship and a shared vision created an efficient and beautiful space for us to work in. We couldn’t be happier.

We couldn't be happier with our beautiful new kitchen. Kojo of MK Builders was so easy to work with! He's quick to respond to questions, the few problems we had were calmly resolved, and all of the subcontractors seemed to respect and appreciate him as much as we did. We have sung his praises to everyone we know and highly recommend him for any building project, large or small.

We chose MK Builders to completely renovate our primary bathroom in early 2024. Although it took a little longer than anticipated, we could not be more pleased with the process and outcome. We had a general idea of the bathroom design, which Kojo formalized with a plan. The project was a complete overhaul, with everything removed down to the studs. All bathroom fixtures and plumbing were new with a walk-in shower and double vanity. We chose all of the materials (tile and wood flooring), fixtures (toilet, shower, faucets, etc.), medicine cabinets, vanity lights, etc. Kojo and Matt provided helpful input and advice when appropriate. We also had them paint and replace the flooring with hardwood in our bedroom, hallway, and laundry room.

Kojo and Matt were a pleasure to work with. They were reliable, trustworthy, communicative, and friendly. They had the attention to detail that is very important to us. They worked almost every weekday and informed us in advance if their plans changed. Not surprisingly, there were several unplanned job add-ons, but the pricing was reasonable. Some of the work was subcontracted, and the plumbing, wood flooring and shower wall installation, plus the painting, were great. We weren’t completely satisfied with the work of the electrician, but they remedied everything to our satisfaction.

We have absolutely no reservations in recommending MK Builders. The quality of their workmanship, responsiveness, and professionalism were excellent, and the project cost was reasonable. We certainly hope to hire them again for more home improvements.
