Let us start with the bottom line. We wholeheartedly recommend Luis and his crew at Double R Design & Build for any project. Period. In fact, I have given their card to many of my family members and friends when they ask for a contractor that they can trust AND who does excellent work.

As we all know, finding a good contractor in this area can be frustrating, especially when you aren’t familiar with any. Seems like every project is a gamble. When we started thinking about this project (major covered patio extension), we did our research on the internet, asked friends for advice, and called/viewed work references. We were looking for one contractor that could handle every aspect of the build as we did not want to deal with multiple contractors. We narrowed it down to a few to get quotes from.

When Luis came to our house it was as if we were talking to an old friend who truly cared about helping us accomplish our goal. He listened to us. He made fantastic design suggestions that we hadn’t even thought of. We were sold. He worked with us over several weeks to tweak the design until we were happy and then gave us the final plans with exacting detail. He and his wife made the contract process very pleasant and efficient.

After getting permits, his crew began work. Everyone we saw was personable, very good at their job, and was very respectful to us and our property. Every evening, the work site was cleaned and organized. We enjoyed watching the progress and seeing the inspection stickers at every level of the build. Luis checked with us frequently to ensure everything was going to plan and that we understood what was happening and were happy with it. If we had questions or concerns, he was always available.
When the project was complete, the cost came in exactly as the contract stated. No surprises! We did have a few change orders that we requested that were very reasonably priced.

The new porch looks as if it were part of the original house build. The design, stucco, and roof parapets blend in perfectly. It is a 15’ x 30’ partially enclosed extension with rubber roof, concrete slab, beautiful tongue and groove ceiling, fans, lights, corner electric fireplaces, mantles, TV mounts, and many nichos. There are extra electric receptacles for future motorized screens and/or heaters.

We now enjoy our morning coffee and meals in this very comfortable outdoor space and have a beautiful area for gatherings. It exceeded our expectations as did Double R Design. Thank you so much for helping us realize our dream patio!

Double R Design & Build did a great job with my balcony weatherproofing, and when they discovered extensive water damage, they were able to pivot and reconstruct the structure. Luis Renteria and his team are easy to work with and trustworthy. I would recommend him for any projects.

In Spring of 2023 we hired Double R construction to do some remodeling work inside of our house, and we have been absolutely happy and satisfied with the process and result. We needed to have built-in hot tub removed, and a support platform built for a new “portable” hot tub. We started by contacting 3 contractors and asking for bids on the work. The first contractor looked over the job, left the house and never submitted a bid. The second contractor told us he wouldn’t bid on the job unless we got plans on how to do it from a structural engineering firm. This would have costed many thousands of dollars more and an untold amount of time to get a firm to do this. The third contractor was Double R. Luis (one of the co-owners) looked it over, and he said “no problem” and gave us a bid within about one day. The work was scheduled within a week and was done on time, for a fair price. His crew seemed highly skilled and efficient. I would give this design and construction company my highest approval, and will definitely hire them back the next time I have a construction project. The platform has not budged since installation, and they also remediated issues with the surrounding floor and door jam. Before and after picture attached:

I can't rave about Double R Construction enough! From Nelly to Luis to team lead, Roger all amazing, good, hard working & honest people--something that is hard to come by. We had a massive water leak in our airbnb and needed a full interior remodel. Luis worked with our insurance to put together an estimate, had his team on site as soon as possible and stayed late to finish the job. He was very responsive and kept me in the loop on all things happening at our condo. They kept our condo so clean and picked up everything--I was pleasantly surprised how they treated my home as if it were their own. They went above and beyond the job scope and made sure our home looked beautiful upon completion. Luis did a full walkthrough with us to confirm our satisfaction with the job. If I ever need a general contractor, I wouldn't hesitate to call Luis and his amazing team!
