The project was completed on time and within the allocated budget, which is rare when working with contractors. Unlike typical contractor experiences where you feel like you have a second job, Lars made the process seamless. Once I made my selections, there was nothing for me to manage. We just moved into our home after a full home renovation by Bluegrass Haven Construction and M. Shields Design and could not be happier! Lars, his team, and Michaela were absolute joys to work with. They were all incredibly responsive, professional, and produced an outstanding finished product. There wasn’t one moment during our months-long renovation where we felt unheard or unsupported. On a project of this size, especially a retrofit renovation, there will always be obstacles and unforeseen issues that arise, but there were shockingly very few and Lars and his team were able to quickly resolve them. Any budgetary changes were communicated quickly and clearly and required our express consent before moving forward. Any changes or additions we wanted to make were thoroughly discussed and the costs/benefits were weighed so we always left feeling great about our decisions. Even though our renovation is complete, I’ve called Lars on a few occasions to make some modifications or additions and he is still as responsive as ever, making sure we are taken care of.
