As a subcontractor working with SHR, I've always been supported with material aid, and their team has been responsive to my needs and concerns. We used Story Hill to finish an attic space into a small bedroom/closet/office. The whole team was great to work with start to finish. They were extremely helpful, communicative and upfront regarding the timeline and other details. We had a challenging situation with permitting (completely a city of Milwaukee problem, not a problem with Story Hill), and they went above and beyond throughout the process of getting that all straightened out for us. The subcontractors they worked with were also super professional and did top notch work. When a small detail wasn’t perfect, David, our project manager caught it and had it fixed before we even noticed. David was onsite at our house nearly every single day throughout the process and it was so great having someone we trusted managing every aspect of the project for us. They were clean, timely, and always met or exceeded the promised timeline. We had done some other minor remodeling in the past with a cheaper option and our experience was night and day better with Story Hill. You get what you pay for! Definitely would use them again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

We love our kitchen and new bathrooms. We used SRH for a kitchen refresh (new flooring, counters, lighting) / remodel (one wall back to studs, one short wall removed and laminated beam installed). We also changed the first floor primary bath to a powder room and took some of that space plus a small second bedroom as a laundry room and on suite primary bath. We have an old home (1935) so of course we encountered interesting challenges when we opened the walls. SHR kept us informed and got the right contractors in to solve problems right away. Speaking of contractors, they have the best! We loved working with everyone they brought into our home and will use many of them for ongoing maintenance needs.

Our designer Karly was with us every step of the way. She presented multiple options during the design phase and worked with us as we made selections. She was also onsite throughout the process to make recommendations regarding grout color, fixture placement and final paint and wallpaper selections.

We worked with Tom as our project manager - he's one of the owners and stepped in mid-way due to some staffing changes. He didn't miss a beat and was up to speed immediately.

Very caring and conscientious company. We’ll be using SHR for a future second floor remodel project. Highly recommend!

We worked with Story Hill on a full kitchen renovation. The Story Hill team is professional, committed, and client-focused. Jack and Tom, the owners, are interested and involved in the project from the very beginning. We really enjoyed working with the designer, Maggie. She was attentive and able to guide us through the decision-making process so that the finished product matched the wishes and ideas we set out from the beginning. The project manager, Dave, and all of the trade partners were professional and respectful. We never felt unwelcome in our own home, regardless of who was at work. Some unforeseen challenges from a previous renovation were handled expertly without adding much time to the project. Thanks Story Hill!
